Of course the defence is more exposed than it should be. But it was ten minutes into the match, in their first attack. Hardly like the three of them made their mistakes after 80 minutes of non stop bombardment. Those mistakes shouldn't have happened, regardless of the men ahead of them in midfield.
 
People complaining about the formation and we should have stuck to our old one. Last match people were complaining about the formation and should go back to 442...

It's not the formation. It's the confidence, the belief. It's been drained and it should be harrys job to instil it.
 
Need to get the spine of our team sorted out. Should have fairly settled CBs/CM's/CF. Then work from that.

Team has benefitted from everpresent Ade (even if not in goals from Adehimself) -simply because his running of the channels, hold up play and link up play is really good. It is only when he is not there that it becomes so obvious.

The formation isn't at fault, it's the personnel. To play an effective 4-4-2 you need a holding midfielder and a forward to drop deeper. Basically VDV for Saha/Defoe and Parker for Livermore and you had a team that would win today. Now? Not so sure. Maybe some people will now start to appreciate Parker's influence a bit more...
 
No Co-ordination in attacking movement. We don't utilise good positions. The amount of Bale crosses that don't come to anything. Defoe shoudl be running front post and Saha back post with midfield player on the pen spot.
