***TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Liverpool OMT***

Well well well, that was fun in the end.

We didn’t deserve it to be fair. We didn’t do enough to win it IMO but, fudge it, we’ll take it. Thought we looked threatening when they had 10 but when they went to 9 we really struggled because they sat in and defended the box brilliantly. We were slow and ponderous but they defended brilliantly. Was a little disappointed in some of the crowd around me, they started moaning about everything when, against Sheffield United, they stayed behind the team.

On the offside, well seems it wasn’t. Fair enough. Maybe karma for the CL final or Jota scoring the winner last year when he shouldn’t have been on the pitch. On Jota. No idea if his first was a yellow but he was lucky to escape with a very cynical foul just after coming on so he deserved to go in my book. fudge him.

Thought Porro was brilliant. Gets better every week especially defensively. But VdV was MOTM for me. Absolutely outstanding today.

Delighted with the win but we got lucky and it probably highlighted more of our deficiencies than strengths. I’ll take it though…especially over those clams.
 
Can we all just take a moment to savour how delicious it is to beat those clams in that manner?

I've lost count of how many times we've deserved to win against them and through cheating/poor officials/bricky luck we've come away with nothing.

Nice to see them on the end of it at least once in a few decades.

We have trouble when the opposition is playing a low block, even if they're down a player or two. All teams do. I think with them at full strength we would have scored more easily. We would also have given up more.

In many ways, it’s better than smashing them 4-0. My phone has been hopping since half time from my Dipper mates and it’s been beautiful.

Yeah, I think that second red worked against us - we looked quite strong and threatening up until then. Anyone would struggle against that deep block though. Liverpool executed it brilliantly until Matip didn't.

The amount of bleating from football in general is comical. I don't care if Jota's first yellow was 'harsh', DON'T be STUPID and make that sort of challenge to get a second! I don't care if Jones' boot caught the top of the ball, it was a straight-leg studs up over the top challenge, DON'T be STUPID and challenge like that. Offside error? OK. Everyone suffers those. At least these pricks got an apology. What did we get in 20-19 for Sissoko's right nipple and armpit being considered a 'hand'? A rule change which helped others.

I know we are accustomed to being nervous as fans. But I was really disappointed with the atmosphere today. We could have carried the team when they were down to 10 men but the atmosphere just died. Yes there were pockets of singing all round the ground but for anything to take hold it has to come from the south stand.

Other than that - get in! I can’t take these last minute winners much more but how absolutely delicious does it feel to have done those lot at the death.
 
My thoughts

- fudge the ref's, fudge Neville and all the idiot media that is trying to make the game out as "full of controversy" and if we didn't get a fudging apology after the Sheffield game, the fact that anyone does is travesty

Realistically

- Liverpool played well, best I've seen them play in a while, VVD and Allison kept them in the game
- They lost because of indiscipline by two players, Jones was clearly a fudging red and Jota is just a macaron, he got away with it in the last game against us, he didn't this time

The offside clearly was a decision for us but zero way of saying we wouldn't have responded, and in the end the OG was a defender fudging tired of being pressed for 90+ minutes

General comments

- Good game by the majority again, Vicario, VDV, Udogie, Bissouma, Son, Maddison
- Good to see how much Ange trusts the bench, Veliz will have a memory for the rest of his life

We are a good side, fudge everyone, lets go!
