*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Le Saudi Sportswashing Machine - Official Match Thread ***

Maybe he's been told to report back at the same time as everyone else on International duty?

Cheik Tiote also took part in the quarter finals on Sunday. Let's see if he's playing for Saudi Sportswashing Machine this weekend.

I would only have two from there line up who will be starting at the weekend and that is Debuchy and Cisse. We are better than them. We have a better team than them. We are above them in the league. We are at home. We will win.

I expect Ade to be playing on Saturday.

The team will reconvene tomorrow I guess. He should be there and has time then to get back ready to play.

He will be physically recovered by tomorrow or should be from Sunday's game. Maybe another day for the travelling, but there's not that much jet lag twixt here and Africa usually. Depends where he's flying from i guess.

I think he should have come straight back, but as long as here's Thursday and ready to play on Saturday then fine.

I don't know who Debuchy is, but if he's a full back then I agree. Cisse too.

But as you say we're better than them and I expect us to win. Assuming Ade and Holtby start and Dempsey doesn't.

That doesn't fill me with confidence. We've won half the games played at home (and actually have a slightly better win rate away). On top of that, I think Pardew will be wary of succumbing to another drubbing like last year's 5-0 scoreline.

However, I still remain optimistic and hope we grind them into the ground.

I'd rather be playing them at home than away..

They have won 1 away game all season.

"Anyway, since when did Bale become the most feared player on the planet? Jesus. With my black and white tinted glasses off, i'd say our very own Hatem Ben Arfa offers just as much as him. Sadly he probably won't be in the squad, but stop wetting yourselves over Bale. Spurs have just as much to worry about, due to our extremely strong central midfield, they need to win that battle before they can spread the ball out for Bale, so if we make the ball ours in the middle, and retain it well - as we have been doing. Gareth Bale (the best player in the whole universe according to some on here seemingly) may just have a quiet afternoon."

I hope they come to WHL and try and attack us. They did the same thing last season and we tore them a new one.

Last season they didnt have any defenders or defensive midfielders fit. They tried to play two up front. We simply over-ran them. Pardew held up his hand and said he made a mistake with the team and the tactics. I dont think he will make the same mistake again and now he has virtually a full strength squad and has significantly freshened it up in the Jan window.

Although Holtby looks a good addition, I really, really hope we dont rue the day we didnt buy a striker in the window (for the third season running).

Do you know some facts that we dont?

I know that Adebayor is back in England.

I know that the whole Togo team refused to get on the plane the Togo FA arranged.

I also know that Adebayor paid for them to have a private plane which flew them back earlier today.

If Adebayor had abandoned the rest of his team out at the ACN to be back one day early i would have severe doubts about his mental state. As is i feel rather confident he will start on Saturday.

Edit: Saturday.. :-#

That is significantly different from the story I saw reported.

I just hope your facts are correct. If they are, all is well with the world.

this story and the past couple of pages really highlighting how some people can't wait to see him fudge up.
