Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Deep joy !!

Important information

Due to planned engineering work, Northumberland Park station will be closed on Sunday, though Greater Anglia services will still call at Tottenham Hale, terminating at Liverpool Street.

Additionally, Greater Anglia services will not operate north of Broxbourne to either Stansted Airport, Hertford East or Audley End. Replacement bus services will be in operation between these locations.

On the TfL network, the Piccadilly line will be closed between Wood Green and roosterfosters, while extensive Elizabeth line closures will be in place until 1pm.

Frequent services are anticipated through White Hart Lane, Seven Sisters and Tottenham Hale before and after the game, though Tottenham Hale is expected to be busier than normal due to the closure of Northumberland Park.

Walked to the stadium on my own on Thursday to meet my mates
Guy in front with a teenager and they were talking about the stadium
The dad said “Ipswich have a ground …. This has a stadium”
Did make me laugh to see how it was perceived
They sounded Australians

fudging hell, when the entire premise of your article is wrong

Quote "As Spurs have scratched around the lower half of the Premier League this season there has been much sneering at the emphasis given to American football, boxing and concerts, but the problem is less the way revenue is generated than the fact so little of it ends up being spent on players."

Spurs has never spent more on players than in last 5 years .. fudge, how do these people have jobs, do they literally read social media and write brick based on that vs. actually doing some research?

Because they aren’t held accountable for what they put out they can just get it blatantly wrong

Because they know that there will be idiots out there that will believe everything they read.

So the "new stadium isn't good for atmosphere" was dispelled, just about nights like Thursday, or maybe it was just "the right fans"
I’m gonna say something and it may stir up a convo
My mate was sat behind some Korean fans. They spent the whole game watching TV on their phone. His son took some video of it (he is 11 with a few issue so for him filming it was normal).
No sonny… maybe no interest … maybe

Maybe but I have been when blokes next to me spent 20 mins of a game in the bogs doing a load of blow and not coming back end of second half, so culturally one might seem odd, but it all boils down to the same.......just no one has the bottle to film someone gacked up to the 9s

I’ve seen that many times
But yesterday was much less about the “wrong type of fan” and all about the club and fans being aligned briefly

Point is, when people stop looking for excuses, the new stadium works as well as the old. ROTS and co are IMO guilty of self fulfilling prophesy by constant moaning.

Maybe
I think it’s more about game context
Most games are bland against opposition we expect to beat (yes we’re brick right now)
Sometimes we have games where the fans know the Atmosphere matters
Last night was one
City in the CL was one
Arsenal 3-0 was one
The league cup home games this season were good
But most games it’s a combination of apathy, arrogance, boredom and will that changes the atmosphere

Of course but again makes this stadium no different to the old. 12:45 KOs on a Saturday were drab.............midweek under the lights with abit on the line were great.

People blaming bricks and mortar and or the "wrong fans" basically are talking out their arses

Sunday 2 pm
brick
And I don’t disagree the wrong fans isn’t why. It’s a daft title they used that’s just wrong

To be fair how many tourists actually make up the percentage of bums on seats? But furthermore it’s our own fault for having fans that are happy to sell their tickets to anyone. I know sometimes you can’t go but I know some wrong ones that sell their tickets purely for the money

Hopefully we’re never so bored at WHL as to see this sort of behaviour!

My ST is in the North Stand. The bar we usually go to inside the Stadium is at the Worcester Avenue side and overlooks the away fans arriving. We were amused at a Spam game watching a Spammer getting busted. The Police sniffer dog caught him, he was duly searched, a bag of white powder taken from him, handcuffed and marched off to the cells. I mean why would you do this? Bring drugs to a football match? Why?

Perhaps people should face up to reality and stop expecting to win all the time. When the team is struggling its the time to get behind them and not worry about other issues.
