Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Good thing the NBA MetaQuest camera isn't on the floor at the baseline. Often have the ref's arse blocking views of the basket while the floor attendant who swabs up sweat or the drinks server flit back and forth blocking views of the court. You also wouldn't get close ups of the folk who inhabit the front row floor seats. Living proof that money doesn't buy good taste. Tacky, trashy outfits, plastic surgery-altered faces left and right. And you would not want smell-o-vision with all the perfume and cologne wafting about.

Not really stadium related, but don't know where else to put it.

How come we always play towards the North stand in the first half and towards the South in the second? We always play the first half against the North. Why? Isn't there a coin toss anymore between the teams on which side you start on? I haven't seen one for a long time, so I assume it's gone - but when was it? We seem to have played towards the North in our first halves for ages.
You should always get the uphill half in first. Its a statement, like taking the first penalty in a shoot out

Hoddle and Perryman have both said before that in their era they always favoured playing towards Park Lane (the home end) in the second half

Got to say that ima amazed the artists that can seemingly sell out stadiums when you can’t actually sell music any more

You can copy/replicate vinyl, CDs, MP3s etc, but you cannot really copy the 'feel' of a live event in the same way. Well, not in the way that is beyond what you get when you watch a big show on TV anyway.
Plus, i'm sure a lot of CDs and stuff gets sold only at the in-person events too. Then there is the event management side of things that are always going to be the expertise more a of a big corporate stadium than a more smaller/local 'gig' and they'll know how to maximise an event for even those who cannot sell many CDs these days

The dynamics have changed but the usual people still get their piece of the artistic pie....if those artists are sharp, they'll stay afloat too....no doubt the margins are far tighter than before and you probably have to be far more guarded with 'unreleased material' as well.
But i totally get why (some) artists can sell out stadiums even if they can't sell many CDs

Nothing can beat the live music experience. You live the music and are in combination with the people around you. So yes. Just like going to games live, although im allowed to jump around at gigs and in my case with Rock and Metal, I can mosh like the good old day in standing when a goal was scored. Not smashing your legs on seats in front and being told to sit down all the time.

Some artists, I agree
But an act with no obvious presence in a foreign country shows the impact of streaming
We had the African hip hop guy too the other year although that didn’t sell out
It’s clearly a model that works
I go to loads of gigs but only typically see bands whose material Ive brought now or historically. That’s not say someone hasn’t brought actual music from these guys too

Just seen that the goons may be increasing their capacity to 80k … could we even try to do that with the constrictions around our stadium?

We'd struggle to sell those seats without lowering prices. I've spent a couple of seasons high up in the east stand and you can't tell who's who on the pitch. Sitting even further back? Definitely not worth it.
