Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

It's a cracking stadium at MK but it's a bit soulless like all new ones

Also the transport to get there isn't great even from MK station

I don't think they would know what hit them if we played there to be honest

By the way the Bedford train is the slowest train in the uk. It's normally one carriage and is officially the most under used railway in the country

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

Wouldn't charter services be expected from the club?

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

I loved the look of the Yankee stadium the other night when UTD played Real. The way the side walls were positioned right up close to the pitch made it almost as if the crowd were right on top of the pitch

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

I thought that this could potentially work well for me as well. 25 miles from Luton Airport. But on checking National Rail, it seems that there are no direct trains from Luton Airport Parkway to Bletchley and you have to go via Bedford, seems to be long way round. Am I missing something? Is there a direct route?

From my one visit there, Bletchley was about as close to the stadium as Seven Sisters is to WHL.

Yeah, saw that, Fenny Stratford appears to better. But it still goes via Bedford.

Start a petition to get Milton Keynes a direct train to and from London St Pancras!

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

I like the MK dons bit. 20 minute drive.

Although we would miss having our trips to Enfield for a year, I wont complain over the shorter journey by 50 miles each way. Only 150 to MK Dons and 1 hour less drive each way \o/

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

If we move stadia for a year the travel arrangements to that area would be changed.

It would be a matter of safety.

This info was posted on Friday, apologies if posted elsewhere and for the delay.

"There are a lot of posts in this forum about whether ENIC will sell up before the stadium is built so I thought I would pass on what I know. None of this comes first hand from a senior person at Spurs but the sources are good enough for me to believe it to be all true. None of it is breaking news.
Spurs are always for sale at the right price. There have been a couple of buyers who came close, one was the Russian bloke but ENIC turned him down for what imo were very correct reasons. More recently there was someone else who went on to buy a club outside the UK.
There are two overseas buyers in the shadows at the moment, one has been there for 2 years! From all I know about the stadium neither prospect is holding up or accelerating the stadium, they are having no effect on the timetable.
The issues with the stadium are:
- design, changing the architects was a blow to progress
- archway, Daniel may have to try and do a bad deal
- financing - some progress such as the recent itk on sponsorship and looking at a retail bond but Daniel will always want more public funding
On the plus side:
- I think we are getting close to inviting tenders for the build
- things with the Council and Boris are fairly good at present
- from many chats with Daniel, I am personally convinced he is very committed to building it.

"I think it was a big step backwards to get rid of KSS, I noticed they are now doing the new pool stadium which has overtaken ours so they haven't done badly out of it. I think KSS were undercut on fees by populous plus a few people around the project who had worked with populous before. "

"I haven't seen the latest, latest design but heard a slightly worrying view from someone who has. "

Re: ITK Thread

I know some wont mind but Id hate it if we sold to some Russian billionaire or someone else who'd use this as a new shiny play thing.

For all his faults I love Levy at the helm, and feel so comfortable having him looking after the club...

Re: ITK Thread

Don't like the sound of that last line, as long as it's not a generibowl I'll probably like it.

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

Don't MK Dons have uncompleted upper tiers (ie no seats)?. Maybe we can complete them as part of the deal to play there for the season.

And in true Levy style he may just know somewhere with a few plastic seats going spare (albeit the wrong colour).

Seriously though (although the above could be serious!) MK is probably far and away the cheapest and least contentious (eg not sharing with the pikeys etc) solution.

Re: ITK Thread

Some guy on TFC says

61,000(attendance) from the stadium manager's mouth. 2017/18 we'll be in. 2016/17 season at Milton Keynes. Archway steel was settled 8-10 days ago. Everyone working there knows this. At last

From their web site it looks like it will be completed by the end of the month and bring the capacity up tp 30070, not a bad size at all.

They played at Michigan stadium.

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

Question - what's the minimum away contingent in terms of numbers we could get away with in a temporary stadium?

I think it's 10 %, but capped at 3000?

The Goat is hearing this afternoon that a 2 year stay at MK Dons is being strongly considered. It's also possible that we'd play 2-3 games a season at another venue away from MK

The stadium already has travel set up for the capacity of the stadium (MK that is)

The problem Is fans coming from. London which obviously it wasn't designed and located for

The upper tier is complete by the way at MK . Had to be done for the rugby World Cup. I believe they may have taken some seats back out due to issues with them but it's all their basically

Regarding the earlier comment about a train from st pancras... For MK you get the train from Euston which is a 5/10 minute walk from St Pancras
