Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Wow. That's a sh!t load of steel and some beautiful engineering.

I suppose there is gonna be a big convoy of lorries on the M1 at some stage?

SCX Special Projects - the bespoke precision engineering arm of the family-run SCX Group based in Wincobank, Sheffield - is preparing to install the movable grass pitch over a 12-week period from October.

That should have course be anywhere from 3 to 7 weeks from now. I'm guessing it will be done at night to avoid traffic. Since each load is of a considerable size it will take time to manoeuvre them onto the site. Don't think we'll see more than a few delivered each night.

The scaffolding really emphasise the scale of the place!
Best in the world Sheffield steel. Obviously no cheap Chinese imports for New WHL

Terrible that this notion of cheap Chinese imports holds true even to this day. China has a market for cheap brick but believe me if you are looking for quality you can easily find it.

I believe we went with this company due to their experience in the sports arena. Top marks for levy not to take a chance of failure.

The fact that pretty much everyone on the build has pointed the finger at levy for wanting everything without compromise speaks volumes of the man and the build itself.

The stadium is going to be better than any one of us can currently imagine, i truly believe that.

That was a specific statement about steel - Chinese export steel is crap (it has too much boron and copper to get round an EU directive on alloys vs non-alloys).

I appreciate they do manufacturing well when there's incentives to.

Sheffield produces more steel now than it ever did at the height of the industrial revolution. Its just all automated/there aren't many job in it. Forgemasters, Firth Rixson and Outokumpu are all located there.

They make highly specialised stainless steels (of did when I dealt with them at rolls Royce)

This will be carbon steel or possibly aluminium which isn't generally produced in the U.K.
