A few months ago someone posted a diagram on SSC showing where they were to demolish the old stadium first. There was a section of the west stand (i.e. where they have started) and another section in the east stand. I presume they want to create access routes first.

Looks like that new section will increase capacity significantly for getting up and down from the platforms.

That increase in platform length and new station building, in addition to more and longer trains will be a massive improvement.
