Tottenham Hotspur 2025 Europa League Winners !!!!!!!

Yeah I remember that Madrid trip home, was grim. Camaraderie is such a big part of the whole experience, in the ground last night everyone was hugging, high fives, handshakes all around, you lose together you win together, as I walked out I shook as many hands as I could and congratulated people.

Plane was full of happy, chatty (knackered people), when we got into Stansted passport control the lady at the front shouted "this way to the Champions League" and got a nice little cheer to end the trip.
Chatting amongst us at the game last night and I was saying I don’t think there is any sport that has the same emotional connection and camaraderie (and of course the opposite in terms of competitiveness and animosity) that comes with football. You just can’t explain it to anyone who doesn’t follow the sport.

Unreal wasn't it? Didn't get to see the trophy presentation because they turned off all the big screens. Do you think this was to prevent any further pandemonium? So I rewatched all that today haha

Still it was all more than worth it. As you say second only to being in Bilbao?

I guess they were worried about people being too close to the screens and their power source.

Probably a point on the risk assessment.

I returned to my old Spurs pub in Oslo I hadn't visited for years yesterday (moved out of the city, got kids, etc.) and it was such a lovely feeling just being there. So many familiar faces, everyone just a little older, but it brought back so many good memories.

And I had totally forgotten how good it feels to hug unknown, drunk men while celebrating a Spurs goal/win. Made me appreciate why I fell in love with football in the first place; the emotion and connection and friendships.

I have to say that it’s a long long time since I have seen so many bare chests (male) in one place as I did after the final whistle last night. Not that I was paying much attention of course ….

And what does this do for our coefficient in the ECL?
I belive the Europa league winner was always in Pot 1, but maybe that changed with the new format.

Edit. Atalanta were in pot 2 but they also had the 16th best coefficient, so I think it's purely going by coefficient now. We're 31st now after winning the EL. It's based on last 5 years, and we only got 5 points in that first year, and zero for 23/24.
So pot 3 is the best we can hope for, if a lot of teams above us don't qualify for the CL.

It’s the low margin nature of the sport that means when it works.. it means more

No I disagree. It’s because so many fans have an emotional attachment to a club. Locality, family etc. Of course some fans find their own route which is brilliant but whilst I enjoy watching cricket, and to a lesser extent rugby, I never hear anyone speak with an emotional attachment to Essex or Sussex or Saracens etc. Football is unique in that respect.
