Time wasting.

It's usually the goalkeeper of the Norwegian national team during some meaningless friendly tournament in January. I think Thomas Myhre was penalized for having the ball in his hands in 2003, then there was another incident a few years later.

Something that I've seen regularly when teams are time-wasting at goal-kicks, is that while the GK is taking his time getting/positioning the ball they will also have a player or two speaking to the ref and therefore distracting the ref from the GK's time wasting antics.

Nothing new about time wasting in football, its been going on for decades. The worst i have seen was the Leeds team of the 70's as well as kicking everything that moved they also took time out of every game.

We did a great job at time wasting when 0-2 up against Arsenal...

Harry diving on the ball and hugging it was a particular highlight.

:D

...or grabbing the ball when they fall over. This 400% guarantees a free kick, I have genuinely never seen a player booked for handball in these circumstances.
Then you haven't been watching a lot of football! Happened at least 5 or 6 times during the world cup alone.

Could not help chuckling when Eriksen cheerfully took a booking for preventing a quick fk being taken.

Saying that I don't really like to see time-wasting. Not convinced it makes that much difference in the long run either. Could easily backfire, eg opposition succeed in winning possession by the corner flag and score an equaliser on the counter after you've passed up the chance to go for another yourself.
