Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Yeah most of our wide players probably would do better in a non touchline hugging role. Odob maybe the exception, but should suit a number of roles.

Given flexibility of approach being one of Frank's strong sides difficult to predict who will suit him and not. Perhaps makes some squad decisions internally more difficult too.
I don’t think any is straightforward now or easy
But that’s is squad building and management
I think we actually have too many players when I go through the numbers but that seems daft after what we saw last season

I think the one that might benefit is Johnson. The guy is just not a winger.

Frank might find him a setup based around 4-2-3-1 so he can get back to that intelligent destructive movement that he had at Forest. He's done well enough popping up in goalscoring positions even from the wide right. I can imagine what player he will become in the narrower space. He has the pace, first touch, one-touch passing and can actually thread a ball. I think Tel and Moore probably have the attributes to play in a 3 as part of a 4-2-3-1 as well. Kulu definitely does. Not sure yet about Odobert, but I have a feeling the toughest transition will be for our captain.
I'm intrigued by the idea of Johnson being used in a more functional manner. I might even appreciate his qualities more if he's played in a role that actually suits his abilities. I'd still argue for at the minimum another option for the right as just having Johnson is a lot of hope without any real basis for an improved fitment or any real competition for a starting berth.

Intrigued to see where Frank will use Kulusevski. In my opinion he is our best player and prefer to see him centrally and more involved that on the wing. Like others have pointed out the different formations will most likely mean a number of different roles for him

Well he obviously had something in mind for Johnson when he wanted him at Brentford

The injuries made us feel light, BUT I think there was a game last season where I noticed that we still had 3-4 injured but the bench was full of 'senior' players ....as I was wondering who would miss out if all were fit.

I agree that there is more there for Johnson, and it does feel a bit weird saying that given his numbers this season.

Has ‘Frank Thomas’ been appointed yet? I assume that we are still working out the finer details on which staff we can take from Brentford.

Are Spurs ever going to announce it?
You can't announce something that hasn't happened yet.

Their chairman is notorious for getting good value for his assets, and their backroom staff are very highly rated so it's not just the negotiation of Frank itself that is being discussed. With this in mind and Levy being Levy, it was never going to be a quick conclusion....

Surely it's just the totting up of paying off contracts and/or release clauses?...

That's interesting.
Hopefully that's been about Brentford ensuring a cup run doesn't get them relegated.
But it's certainly a concern on paper and won't be acceptable here.
Fed up of everyone banging on ad nauseum about winning a trophy. Now that we've got that monkey off our backs, can we please get back to get prioritising a top four finish?

Just for a change if nothing else!

If it all goes pear shaped we can always blame an ex gooner :):):)

BBC Sport understands that recently appointed Spurs chief executive Vinai Venkatesham, who only started work last Monday, has been involved in the process of appointing Frank, alongside chairman Daniel Levy.

If it even gets done this week, that's pretty quick. Relatively speaking.
Also, I think Justin Cochrane would have been away with England as part of the coaching team so that would inject an unavoidable delay to the process
