Thomas Frank - Head Coach

We definitely don't in deep midfield.

To bring it back to a previous discussion we didn't really at times under Pochettino either. But we compensated for that with two really good ball playing centre backs, Eriksen, Kane etc.

Apologies if I spend too long reiterating points we're already in agreement on. By that I don't mean I will stop doing it though 😉
That's right we never did under Poch BUT we had a player that could singlehandedly bully and snake hips around the entirety of the oppositions midfield. A press resistant beast. That's before you got to Wanyamas and Diers physical presence.

So although you wouldn't witness amazing passing from that area..it still allowed us to progress the ball forward and gave the opposition serious problems in the central areas. It also allowed us to raid down both sides with confidence (especially when Dier went thru his dropping in phase).

All different ways to skin a cat, and largely all depending on the type and level of player you have available to you.

No worries, keep doing so :-)

Poch did have two elite passers. You named them both :-)

Of course it impacts, its human nature ffs. Booing clams reap what they sow.
Indeed. If I were a Spurs player and I got booed at half time there is no way I am coming to applaud fans at the end of the match whether we went on to win, draw or lose. My altitude would be if they can boo us players because they have paid money and therefore they have a divine right then they can Foxtrot Oscar.

I don't like booing. Think it doesn't help at all. But if you accept the cheers when you did well. You accept the boos when you did badly.
As a player you are an entertainer. It is what people are paying money for. They come to see you to feel that emotion. If you are not providing that then you are not doing your job. The fans show it by booing. It's down to you to do better or you will be replaced.

My attitude is that if fans want to boo their own players that is on them. But if they then get panties twisted because the players do not applaud them at the end of a match then they should go fcuk themselves.

Personally, if I sit and watch a really talented player like Bentancur, with plenty of room and time to turn and pick a 10 yard pass forwards, with an easy enough option, but they don't even try that, they just pop it straight back to the centre back, who looks puzzled and gives it to the other CB who gives it to Bentancur and once again, Bentancur doesn't even angle his hips or turn his head to see what is available, he just bats it straight back to the CB, and the opposition start to cotton on that we are playing with fear, I find it hard not to grumble under my breath, then grumble louder, then say "turn, try to go forwards, there is an easy pass you aren't even looking to make", etc etc... that is what leads to boos. Players not even angling their bodies/heads/minds towards trying to go forwards. They just pop it back to the CB and trundle off to hide behind an opposition player. Does my head in.
