Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Absolutely, there was so much love and respect (and likely still is) for Ange in this squad, but sometimes it's hard for us fans realising it's their job - and they're basically trained to move on with frequent games and manager changes. Which us fans should be grateful for too. Imagine the uproar on here if the majority of the players started sulking and refused to move on after Ange's sacking...

To be honest, it's probably not that much different to what we go through. If you really got on with your manager at work and they suddenly got fired despite doing the equivalent of winning the Europa League, you'd probably be pretty upset for a bit. But at some point, professionalism and the reality that you need a job kick in, and life moves on.

i believe that TF's first year will also be about experimenting - something that ange didn't do enough.
hopefully the players are able to keep fit, as seeing how flexible TF is - it looks likely that everyone who impresses will get a chance.

Answered it well didn't he. As expected, he comes across well but this is the easy part - let's see how he does when we start going through our sexy periods. But good to see him in good form, onwards and upwards...
I liked him recounting that in the first meeting with all staff he only guaranteed one thing to them - that they will lose matches.
But the consistency and principles must continue throughout these inevitable low periods. Seems he's already cognisant of how to try preparing and insuring against much change through those times of pressure.
The little mention of different principles at play depending on where we happen to be defending on the pitch speaks well of his methodical approach too

Was that the bit about the captaincy?
No, I meant the answer starting in the video at 10:30. "Are you banking on them being here", the journo asks re: Sonny and Romero, and instead of confirming that they will be here for the season, his answer is quite generic ("leaders on the training pitch" / "happy with them"). Later on, when asked on Maddison's injury status for example, he is much more at ease and more forthcoming.

Now all he has to do is make the "fans" understand that every team we play aren't **** and we should win by 3 goals.

Looking forward to seeing how we go under Frank. Will be if anything interesting as ever.

A far more pragmatic approach will be welcomed by me.

For me it’s just a shame we did not have a couple more additions through the door for him to get going with straight away.

Love your post. Plays with the emotions of being a Spurs fan.

In our hearts we all want entertaining football with success. Our path to finding that is a tough one. We've seen the last guy get the dials in the wrong place and lose his job. We're hopeful Frank can entertain us whilst making us a winning club.

Then we have the annual cycle of knowing that we never get all the signings in place for the season preparations. I've learned to live with that to be fair. If the MGW saga continues but we get him, I doubt I'll be thinking about that in a month or so. I'll just be ecstatic to have him.
