You mean Bale, Kane and King vs Tel, Richie and Romero? The Sherwood debate is interesting but does the relative quality and depth of the squad compare between then and now?

From my fading memory, he was better during Sherwood’s brief tenure than any of our current CFs are doing now. You’re reaching with Kane there mate aren’t you…
King retired 2012. Dawson was captain the 2013/14 season. You mean Bale, Kane and King vs Tel, Richie and Romero?![]()

Thats all side talk that makes this forum interesting/ish
The reality is despite the really small 20 game sample size I don't think he is a good manager, I don't think his track record warrants a second look and I don't think any two situations are ever the same, as I said yesterday, this is not the same as when he took over before.
If his record at Spurs was such a guide to his management he would have been picked up by another PL club by now, he hasn't and I suspect there is a reason for that
You keep repeating the same stuff, ignoring the fundamentals of the point. It’s weird how some people can be so swayed at a persons performance just because of the fact they aren’t particularly eloquent or they have a common accent (the same goes for Redknapp as well)
I suspect because he did badly at Villa. His Spurs record was good. That got him the chance at Villa. Where he did badly….You keep repeating the same stuff, ignoring the fundamentals of the point.
His winning sample size was 20 games (or so) here in the PL, so the "great PL manager by win %" over the short time is factual but also slightly a pathetic win, there are managers with less over 100 games or more and their % lower but are more significant than him. Again I ask why with that % being so important in your eyes, why hasn't he picked up another job since Villa?
The rest can also be true but not impact the above.
Ive said before he did a good job, but it was a massively short time so I dont read anything into it more than it was.I suspect because he did badly at Villa. His Spurs record was good. That got him the chance at Villa. Where he did badly….
And as he hasn’t got much other experience PL teams aren’t likely to take a chance.
Why is it that you can’t admit he did a good job at Spurs?
