The youth players/on-loan thread 2016-17

An other option would be that players over a certain age, who do not play x percentage of first team games within a season, are allowed to leave for a set price (annual salary multiplied by x).

The was a meeting in Lisbon recently where UEFA were talking about such a rule. Not before time.

Glover, Tanganga, Brown, Amos, Maghoma, Lesniak, Bennetts, Goddard, Tracey, Edwards, Sterling.

Didn't play a massive amount but did well when he got his chances from what I gather, Phil Brown said that he'd liked to have played him more but it was difficult given they were in a fight for playoff places. I don't know what will happen in the summer but I imagine Southend would want to have him back again and to give him a proper run in the side.
 
Lovely run and took the penalty like a pro.

I heard that it was a bit of a disjointed performance, but then Ugo's death probably has had some affect on them.

Went as a last visit to the Lane coupled with paying respects to Ugo.
Have only seen the team once prior v Chelsea away in the FAY Semi-Final where they got hammered.
Obviously they've been affected by the death of their coach but there was little difference in the performance IMO. Thought Tom Glover was decent in goal, couldn't do much about the sending off(unless he just got out of the way and gifted a goal?!).
Defensively the right back (Tanganga) was ok for large parts as were the two centre-backs (Maghoma/Lesniak or Marsh?) but the left back (Brown) was ok going forward but loose defending.
Midfield-wise I quite liked the look of the No.4 (Dele Alli lookalike), good on the ball and tackled well but Goddard looks out of his depth. The No.7 (another who's name escapes me) showed flashes of skill but lost the ball a lot.
Going forward we threatened rarely, Edwards has great dribbling ability and strength but tries to take on one too many when there are players in space and gets stopped 8 times out of 10. As for the 2 strikers (Tracey/Sterling) they had little service but when given the ball didn't do a great deal with it.
As for Leicester they were a class above on the night, big lads all the way through the team and well organised. The midfielder (Hamza Choudhary) is one to watch as is the left back/midfielder (Connor Wood).
 
Kyle Walker-Peters and Josh Onomah are in England's U20 World Cup squad, the tournament starts on May 20th so we can forget them being involved in the final couple of games of the season.
 
It'll be interesting to watch. From previous games, KWP seems to get time filling in the gaps on the right side for the England sides whilst Onomah gets deployed at #10. I know he played at #8 in that last game against Italy, so here's hoping the coach saw something there and uses him well.
