The youth players/on-loan thread 2016-17

The U18s finished the regular season with a 2-1 win at Arsenal, TJ Eyoma and Jack Roles getting our goals with U16 Phoenix Patterson assisting both. Arsenal did however beat our U23s 2-0, though they did have senior players like Debuchy, Jenkinson and Sanogo in their side. The U18s now concentrate on their youth cup games against Chelsea, as well as the 2nd phase of the season where we'll play Fulham, Aston Villa, Norwich, Everton, Stoke, Derby and Middlesbrough.

I found this on reddit.

When was this from?

This season's IMG Cup in Florida, it's a mini tournament we've been playing in it for the past few years while the regular season is on a break in December. We won by the way.

Yeah, I wondered if it was that, but the footage was dated this month so wanted to clarify that we weren't in the US playing in some tournament prior to the FAYC.

The tie serves as a rematch of the semi-final of 2014-15, where the Blues ran out 5-4 winners on aggregate.

We’ve seen off Stevenage, Queens Park Rangers, Norwich City and Saudi Sportswashing Machine to get to this stage, while Chelsea have beaten Cardiff City, Birmingham City, Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester City.

How well do you rate him Yoof?

I like him, he looked very good when he was first coming through but has had his progression stalled by a couple of bad injuries, he's having an injury-free run now and is starting to get back to the player I saw earlier on. He's a bit different to the majority of our youngsters in that physically he's pretty much already there, he has the physique, strength, work-rate and pace to deal with first team football. He's a striker that likes to run in behind and work the channels rather than getting involved in link-up play elsewhere, he's still rough around the edges in that his touch and decision making can be a bit off so hopefully he can improve those areas of his game under Poch. He can finish but needs to improve his consistency in front of goal, you might see him burst past a player and slam one into the corner from 20 yards and then the next minute he might miss a sitter.

I don't think he's a near enough dead cert to make it like Marcus Edwards but he's certainly a possible, he needs to sharpen up technically but his pace and work rate alone is enough to make him a nuisance to defenders.
