We are making the assumption that we got all this money in one go though - how do we know the Modric money isn't staged over two or three years, much as Levy does his deals. So we might only have received £10m of the £30m at the moment.

Honestly, the only bit of info I heard was that the clause was triggered and that it wasn't QPR. I've never heard of a transfer involving a player but not a destination. I'll just wait and see, I don't know what's going on anymore!!!
 
Don't think we were serious about getting Damiao in. Doesn't sound like we will sign anyone. I'm ok with that though. Pleased with Holtby and think we will be ok. Rather we get proper targets in summer rather than blow a load on a make-do signing this window.

How rude. They were not nonsense, they were for your benefit and education. A player's worth in accounting terms on a balance sheet has little to do with the advertised transfer fee many years earlier.

You seem to be assuming the transfer pot started at zero and remains in the same pot; what if we started with a deficit whichever year you started with? What if some money was syphoned off to pay for the training ground? What if your valuations are wrong? Are you assuming all agent fees are minimal? What about signing on fees? What about wages, is that the same pot?

You made a statement about people being the THFC FD - look in the mirror pal.

yep - although the amount of interest the Club and more recently AVB has shown towards Leandro makes me want to get him in
