Mitrovic never cut it at PL level and he's had a few tries now. Pukki, Wood and Ings are great for relegation threatened teams. None of them are the answer.

Do people here think we scout the Championship and lower leagues effectively? I always get the feeling there are potential bargains to be had - but the wealthier clubs seem fixated on expensive overseas players.

Sander Berge has signed for Sheffield United. Very good and promising young player. Will be interesting to see see how he does. Has the potential to be a hell of a player!

I think that he's definitely one who it is worth letting someone else take the risk on. Lots of promise but I think that there are questions whether he can adapt to a better league.

Yes. And has had injury free season after season of banging goals in since!

We only need them for a couple of months though. And they’d score goals.

I think everyone is going for scraps right now - not much else available.

What is interesting is a lot of lower cost deals.
Maybe the bubble has burst at the "average player" end?

Problem is, its currently seemingly very difficult to get a striker. Not that many top ones around, not many clubs willing to sell in January and two direct competitors with their own star strikers out for a prolonged period of time.

Man Utd seem to be scraping for the same average loan bucket we are with Silimani and Jose and Chelsea are making an audacious bid for Merteens but if they manage it, will most likely have overpaid massively.

I have my criticisms of both Levy and Mourinho but this is a very difficult situation. And I'm not really sure how we approach it.
