The transfer thread

Grealish can graft - he was one of the best during his Villa days.
I think he will be an improvement to werner as he can take on and finish

Grealish can graft, but it doesn't come naturally to him.

Seen it with my own eyes when he has come on for England in front of a knackered Luke Shaw. He stitched Shaw up multiple times leaving his full-back 2 on 1 even though he fresh legs.

You mention the Villa days. You must surely have seen that the entire setup was to give Grealish the luxury role. It didn't matter at all if he didn't defend. I personally think that was the shock to his system when Pep didn't give him that same role.

This is the dangerous time for Spurs. We've been here before where we have a lean squad and then it self-bloats with these sorts of signings. Before you know it, we have 30-somethings spending more time in the treatment room and not pulling their weight when they are on the pitch. We have to avoid at all costs going down this path.

Stick to the 18-25 year olds.

We need players with hunger and on the way up, not "made it" players who have stagnated and are on the way down
I wouldn't take Grealish or Rashford in a raffle.
I had my doubts with maddison and we can maybe, maybe get away with one of them but bringing in more is madness.
As for "ah, but he's good in the air" maguire, fudge me, if anyone really thinks he is the answer to problems spurs have then I dispair.

We need a new CB, a couple of full backs that can defend. A DM or 2 who can actually win the ball back and protect the back 4. A couple of wingers who are going to take on their man and be a threat.

That should do it, seems like an overhaul on the squad but that seems like that is what is needed for these tactics to work.

Kudus ticks all the boxes for me.
PL ready.
Appetite for goal, always looking to go forward.
Up for a fight.
Potentially world class.
Will tinkle off Spam no end.
Cost them 40m and has 3.5 years left.

I’d say we need to be finding the next Kudus, but I fear we did our money in that position on Odobert.

Totally agree on the trajectory of our targets.

They need to be on the up, and around early to mid 20s.

The likes of Cunha, Kudus etc fit the bill, but would be too expensive for us.

So on the basis that sharing a finite budget on 7 players will massively compromise quality, what 2 or 3 positions are most important in your list?

Spurs have put quantity before quality so many times over the years. I would hate to see us go down that path again.

Most important positions are the wingers and a DM imo.

We can't loan Lankshear if we want to make him club trained.

I think we can.
Already has 1 season and I think has another 3 years to get the other 2.

Probably better to keep him for the rest of this season and then he can get a season loan. But he needs to get more game time 2nd half of this season. Even if back in the academy

might be 2 years, i think his birthday is before the end of the season, and i cant remember when the cut off is
