the Tim Sherwood man love thread

I wish him well. It will be interesting to see how he does with a chairman behind him. He never had a chance here. Everyone knew he was temporary, especially the players. And they treated him as such.

On FF earlier Jenas said he loved working with Sherwood and really rated him.

I think his media persona was awful, arrogant and rent-a-gob, but Jenas still rates him, as do many others.

I think he could do OK, they do have some good players, just need more belief.

staying up is the target, he has to get them scoring goals again

he'll need to lean on the older experienced players quite heavily, all the uncertainty over the clubs future will be a distraction on the younger players
 
Villa need to get goals in their side, they just don't score. Sherwood got us scoring a lot more goals, not just Adebayor, but Eriksen too. We're gonna see what he's made of in the Villa job. For this season, if he keeps them up then it's job done.
 
For Sherwood...maybe having been a 'clueless idiot' and a 'sunday pub team manager'...yet then you look up and he's got another PL gig...well I suppose that is already something of a success. If he keeps them up, and gets Benteke scoring again (though that will be cheating), and go from there. Then, after being inserted mid-season (again), maybe he can get in some of 'his' players over the next few windows...ensuring they are his '1st choices' rather than 2nd or 3rd options...then see how he does over a full season or two with an off-season, pre-season, tours, and all that good stuff.

For Villa...staying up, scoring more goals, more exciting and entertaining games, start to build a platform and base, and go from there, etc.

Regardless of what I personally think him, clean slate and I wish him well. As long as he doesn't do a Harry and start talking about 'when I was at Spurs' every 5 minutes. I think both Villa and QPR are strong enough to stay up, with Villa being an easier job. He has the players to be better than 3 other teams in the division I think he will manage it, between the 'bounce back' effect and the quality he does have (Abongalalalalalalonghalor, Benteke, Cleverly, Vlaar, Delph)...
 
That Villa squad didn't take to Roy Keane so they then bring in Sherwood lol
