I think Don is right on protecting fighters for future...........from that point is he right

The party before the fight was wrong, even if it was right before
It's hard to question the corner man. His head is in the fight as much as his boxer..he looks in him the eyes and chats with him between every round. Dubois had taken a knee already (from a shot to the temple) and got up before being caught with a really flush left hand, and DD didn't look like he wanted (or could) beat the count anyway.

You live to fight another day.

Usyk accuracy is unerring, get up half scrambled and the punishment could be severe from a third knockdown.

So who's done a white collar on here?

I signed up for one pre covid that was cancelled and went on a bit of a journey of flimflam / bad decisions / ill health (arguably self inflicted).

Now things are seemingly coming up millhouse again, I've registered for a show in November. My mate did his a few weeks ago and I helped him with training and sparring in the build up, and the venue was top. He smashed it but was up against someone who didn't give the vibe of wanting to be there. Obviously it's quite different when it's actually you stepping in there. Any hints and tips outside if the obvious?

I'd rather it be 8 weeks away but I guess it's a reason to keep it fairly tight over the summer, at 6.6 being quite slim, if I put weight on i'll be matched up with an absolute monster.

Ring walk suggestions will be considered, up to and including Tom Jones and Barry Manilow..

I did some low key stuff when younger for fitness and discipline.

I suppose my greatest advice which might sound abit obvious, but get hit a few times and see how it taste, only thing I think gives you the appetite in the ring is knowing what it feels like to take a shot.

Back in the Saddle always gets the blood pumping if you time your walk

Good luck fella

Cheers bud.

I've done plenty of training and sparring before, obviously with sparring there's time to reset and take a breather rather than your opponent effectively looking to remove your ability to box...

The way I look at it is it's like chess but a bad move is rewarded with a punch in the face / kidneys instead of losing a piece that you have attributed value to. I don't mind that but then it's easy to say, when I've really been in sand pit mode rather than fully fledged peaceful combat.

It's a reason to stay in shape and also focus on the mental side of things. I'll update on here from time to time but the training doesn't start until September, it's miles away and I'd rather have the fight in 8 weeks time tbh, patience hasn't ever been my strong suit!

It's more about the actual approach, I asked chat gpt to build a fitness plan as I've just started playing football for a non league side as well, and injury prevention is pertinent after a horrendous collision has left be a bit broken for a week now! Seriously, has nobody on GG done a white collar before?
