Interesting but not shocked. I was told years back that one reason that Qatar and the UAE invested so much into Sports and sports sponsorship (esp horse racing) was to leverage the power and influence higher up the food chain with diplomatic relations.

Didn't similar happen with the Saudis when buying Saudi Sportswashing Machine? If I remember correctly there were delays getting clearance through the fit and proper persons test and they allegedly used back channels to the Johsnon government to get the approval pushed through?

Yep........

There were rumours before that Qatar had ploughed so much money into UK racing sponsorship that had they pulled it at the time they would have basically come close to bankrupting half the sport and they used that as leverage.

Fulham are so chaotic they’re sort of good and bad at the same time. Playing passes at the back where it feels like even they aren’t completely sure where the ball is headed.

Fun to watch going forward though.
