It’s only week 2 but I’m already thinking like this. It was always going to be a tough game for Liverpool given the extra motivation for Saudi Sportswashing Machine which is never an easy place to go at the best of times, but it was crazy how little control of the game Liverpool had, even at 2-0 against 10 men it was one way traffic.

I thought the crowd did a great job supporting them, I watched in bar it's the first time in ages I've heard audio of a game. I'd love to see our fans get behind us like that more often it makes a big difference.
 
It was an exciting game and I enjoyed it, most pleasing part was when Joelinton got injured, it couldn't have happened to a more deserving character. I'm still bemused by what a foul is and how to know which wrestling incident is relevant, can a player commit a foul if it's far enough away from the ball without it being penalized? That ref always looks like the bloke we use to get over Wormwood Scrubs on a Sunday morning.

Indeed, but this is what champions do - find a way to win. When we are under that sort of pressure, we just absolutely bend over and take a pounding. And as I recall the Goons don't have a great record up there.

People seem to make a lot of judgments on here based on first couple of games, the best teams often take a while to get going (see Emirates Marketing Project season after season). Performances at this stage mean absolutely naff all, there will be sterner tests in the winter months and beyond for everyone - it's all about getting points on the board at this stage.....

A few years ago one of the promoted teams use to get off to a good start and be in top 5 before facing, doesn't happen much now the gap is so wide.
 
Good starts can make a difference. Imagine a scenario where the goalkeeper doesn't flap at the cross against Arsenal and Fernandes scores his penalty against Fulham. The pressure on Amorim would be very different. But Guardiola, Slot and even Howe are in a different position.

I went there last season and I have to say it was the best atmosphere I have experienced in this country. They are super loud and do really get behind the team.

Definitely. The performances should improve as the season progresses. It’s about getting points and not letting any other team run away with the league. I was just surprised how one sided a contest it was even when they had an extra man. Let’s hope they play better and more importantly get three points against the goons on Sunday.

The window hasn’t closed yet. Liverpool may get Isak. Emirates Marketing Project have added players. I think it will be very close between the three teams. Chelsea really ought to challenge as well given the amount they have invested.

True it hasn't closed. But to me Liverpool's issues are more at the bacl/defensively. Isak won't change that imo, unless the grand plan is to go all Kevin Keegan, and we all know how that turned out.

It would be good for teh league if it is a close race (as long as Arsenal don't win it)
