The Official 2017/18 Premier League Thread

West Brom left to rue the fact they didn't can Pardew a week or two earlier. Glad they're down, though.

Glad West Brom are down. Nothing against them as a club or their fans other than the fact that they always play out of their skins against us. Think we've only beat them at home once in the last 6 seasons!

Funny how the joy of escaping relegation probably surpasses winning a trophy.

I remember a night up at Boundary Park where we all went mental when Howellsy scored our second and the world looked alright again. F.ck me it was a journey home but I was buzzing.

A much more important than anything other than winning the league!
Southampton fans won’t remember the journey back home!

Nothing against them apart from that whole Jeremy Peace / Saido Berahino thing, but that probably worked in our favour in the end.
I see Peace sold out to the Chinese for £200m a couple of years ago... I bet they are pleased with their investment tonight...

Would that be the one which had been called off twice previously that my old man always bangs on about?

The games against them are always so predictable. We dominate possession, but fail to create chances against a hard working, physical, borderline dirty team. Refs don't give us any favours. Then we conceede too many needless corners and free kicks in dangerous positions, which WBA eventually take advantage of, flooding the box, creating chaos, and tapping in a goal/score from a header in the final ten minutes or so. Which earn them a draw in the games where we actually manage to score first, or a winner when we don't.

Good riddance. If only West Ham would disappear too, life - and football - would be so much easier.

True. If only Spurs could flood the box and create chaos by actually believing we could score from a set piece

It might have been.

It was a real us or them game, think we actually relegated them that night.

Just looked at that season.

We won just 4 league games from New Years day and actually lost every game in January & February.

Lets face it.....We've never had it so good!

Yep. The home games against them are virtually always the same besides the time we beat them 4-0 and could have easily scored 10. They rarely phone it in against us either, always give us a really tough game. At least we get a break from them for one season at a minimum.
