The Official 2016/17 Premier League Thread

True but they played better football last season IMO and he wasn't here

Just saying what the United fans I know say... Zlatan is too slow and takes too long on the ball
I think Mourinho could set up the team differently like 4-3-3 with fast paced players on the flanks besides Zlatan. I personally think Mourinho style don't suite United with his negative/defensive type of football.

He has lost the plot as a manager

Probelm is he won't take on a project club but United are just that

Just looking through highlights from the weekend. That Claudia not so Bravo is really brick! Should have saved at least the first and second goal. He's a relegation quality GK. Hart wasn't world class, but 10 times better at goalkeeping than that clown. He might be good with his feet, but he can't catch a ball to save his life! He's terrible. Let's pray that Pep keeps playing him.

A win next week is so unlikely knowing us but would be absolutely huge. Will mean we can be fairly confident of at least a top 5 finish (not guaranteed, we've fudged up bigger leads than 9 points at later stages in the season than this) but would also then have a nice run of fixtures against Hull, Burnley, Southampton and Watford to take us into the New Year. What's more is that all of the teams above us bar Chelsea have got some pretty tricky fixtures in December so if we can put together a winning run then we'll be right in the mix come January.

Also - City had won every game when we played them. Now they've taken just 12 points from their last 8 and with Aguero and Fernandinho suspended for the next few games (including against Arsenal) that's likely to drop even further. We broke them :)

Turned out a pretty good weekend for us - Arsenal were always going to get a win, but Liverpool's loss is going to give them nightmares. A Chelsea win won't do us any favours in the championship race, as I just can't see them losing many games but, coupled with the ManU draw, should really shorten our top 4 odds. COYS!

City haven't won at home league game since September the 18th!!!!!

I repeat they haven't won a home game for almost 3 months

People hype them because of the money they have and the players they have brought.... not because of how they have played now for half of the season so far

Chelsea look like they will walk the league now to me

They play long ball counter attacking football and lack the defence.... it won the league last season and can easily do it again with a more expensive squad of better players

I am not so sure mate I think it is too early to say. Felt we were unlucky against them and they were torn apart by City a few times yesterday only for a City to lack the clinical finish. They have already lost to Arsenal and Liverpool and I fancy our chance at the Lane with a full strength side. Still think Luiz and Cahill are not a convincing pairing in defence. Plus I really hate these fudgewits.

Don't disagree but even if we beat them we need others too and most teams seem quite spineless this season

I thought the same about Leicester that they would get beat and falter but it didn't happen.

Mm, but when Zouma is fit he may be a first choice pick.

I agree. City let them off the hook with their finishing and Otamendi decided to dive into tackles he was never going to win too many times. That scoreline could easily have been reversed.

Summary of the next 1000 posts on blue moan: It's a rag conspiracy with Fergie (aka bacon face) pulling the strings.

I see that Fabregas got away with it somehow. I'm not surprised, but I struggle to see how they can justify it when it's such a clear red card offence that the referee didn't see.
