The Official 2016/17 Premier League Thread

What I do know is that I'm sick and tired of commentators and pundits constantly bashing out false information and feeding people with wrong information about rules and regulations.

yeah, that really annoys me too, I like to keep to the fifa laws as they are written

Did anyone get deceived there? It was about as clear as anything can be! My GHod!

thankfully not, but by handling the ball back to the quadrant surely adam was trying to deceive the officials into believing he hadn't played the ball when he slipped

is attempting to deceive the officials (as part of the unsporting conduct laws) not a yellow card offense?
Yes but only with regard to a player falsely pretending that an offence has been committed against them by an opponent, not with regard to hoping that an offence they have committed has gone unnoticed.

where do the laws differentiate that?

If trying to deceive the officials is a yellow card offence, then every player who puts his hand up to wrongly claim the throw-in is theirs when the ball goes out should be booked. It would be a 5 a side match after an hour.

Adam is a monumental clam, but common sense prevailed here, never a yellow.
