The "Official" 2013/14 Other teams matches thread

They are 8 games unbeaten in all competitions.

theyve had an easy set of games. The big games are where they have come up short (typical for Moyes from his Everton days) and Arsanal is a biggie

I think its far too early to write off Man U and you do so at your peril. Man U and David Moyes are known for being slow to get off the mark and I think they might be just getting going.

I saw some stats somewhere today that seemed to show this theory about Man U's slow starts is a myth. Will try to remember where I saw it.

"Now that's aside, let's look at united's so-called 'slow start' to every campaign and then them eventually putting up an 'extraordinary comeback' to win the league. At this stage with ten games played, here are United's stats from the last ten seasons:

Season pos points
12/13 1 24
11/12 2 23 (didn't win)
10/11 3 20
09/10 2 22 (didn't win)
08/09 3 21
07/08 1 26
06/07 1 25
05/06 6 18 (didn't win)
04/05 5 17 (didn't win)
03/04 3 22 (didn't win)

"So where exactly is the spectacular downfall that people are talking about? To me it looks like United have always been great starters to the campaign (WHEN THEY'VE GONE ON TO WIN) ten games in anyway.

"This campaign is not a slow start. it's a failure of united fans all over the world to accept that their team is simply not good enough to compete. The 'slow start' that United fans talk so often about is when they are in a bad position four or five games in then yes their point may or may not be valid but 10 games in is a whole different story. it's over 25 percent of the season gone."

Wonder what Moyes will say about that dive especially as he has already called out Young on it once before...

maybe it is a myth, but i still think they shouldn't be written off. Maybe they won't win the title this year but I reckon they will be up the top competing.

Of course they shouldn't be written off - they're only 3 points behind 2nd place.

Very interesting. I think I'm right in saying this is the first post-game red for an incident the ref did see but didn't act on. Is that right?

Soldado was lucky no retrospective action taken for his elbow on Jaglielka.......The Lloris drama kinda overshadowed everything else from that match:)

Arsenal: No team has had fewer shots in the Champions League this season than Arsenal (27)

-------------- Szczęsny
Sagna Mertesacker Koscielny Gibbs
----------- Arteta Ramsey
Rosický -------- Özil ----- Cazorla
-------------- Giroud

Subs: Fabiański, Vermaelen, Monreal, Jenkinson, Hayden, Bendtner, Gnabry

Only change from Liverpool match is Gnabry instead Akpom on the bench.

.

If Moyes wants to show consistency then he will have to say something. Remember the stuff with Suarez and then Phil Neville's dive?

he didnt, he refused to condemn Young saying the ref had given a pen and that was it...

didnt take him long to toe the United line
