That would be a brave call, to out your only recognised cb, I know they have puyol, but he seems to play everywhere but cb at the min, plus he's knocking on, Mascheranos no cb, whether abidal comes back (hopefully he does), I doubt he'd be at the same level.

I'd love to win the competition, but only if it didn't hinder our league form. Tbh, Bilbao would wipe the floor with us on this form, even with us playing near our best.

They definitely need to buy at least two centre backs. Mascherano is a midfielder not a defender, Puyol is 34! They should go for someone like Kompany.
 
They'd have to buy in the barca mould, and that wouldnt come cheap. Plus i can't think of many defenders that would be comfortable knocking the ball about and bringing into midfield
 
on a side note, if athletic converted martinez from dm to a cb we all want at spurs, why couldnt we do the same with sandro?

tenacious, decent on the ball, reads the game well. gotta be worth a punt, and may save us a few quid

Hopefully our new manager will treat all cup competitions with respect instead of throwing them.
 
Valencia seemingly awarded a penalty for handball, even though it was a valencia player that handballed it. Cue 2/3 mins of pushing and shoving and Thiago slapping Soldado in the face. Thiago sent off and penalty rescinded. Bizarre.
