To be honest, not saying winning the Carling Cup made WHL an attractive proposition but we went years without the Champions League, won the Carling Cup (all with Commolli as DoF) and still managed to bring in some stars like Bale, Modric, Kaboul etc.

They weren't stars before they joined us though mate maybe Modric was well sought after but by Saudi Sportswashing Machine. It's a great tournament to win and I'd love to win it every year but it isn't attractive for non English players.

'King' Kenny is a weird man. Bellamy has been their best player this season yet he starts mr no league goals, no league assists, and persistent diver Stewart Downing instead. His only saving grace is his crossing which is useless today without Carroll. Oh and that herb Jamie Carragher is back which makes things even worse.

I agree with you and I doubt they came to us because we won the Carling Cup but at the end of the day Liverpool are a big club whatever way you look at it, sure, most of their massive achievements were in the past but players won't neccesarily look at it that way all the time.

Liverpool are a massive club historically much like us. The exception is that we're looking like we might be capable of doing something again. I don't think Liverpool are attractive, nor are any team, without champions league.
