The London Taxpayers' Stadium Shambles

Reminds me of this:

What an enormous schwanzstucker. Doesn't look like they cooked it a whole lot either.
It's an ordinary sized sausage, just happens to be David Sullivan holding it.

I don't think it looks too bad tbh. The chasm does, but you wouldn't normally see that I guess. Glad it's not ours though. Just wish the Dildo Bros had had to pay for the fudging thing.

It's not "retractable" really is it? It is some new seating on a scaffold, in front of the existing seating. That's like saying a conservatory is a retractable lounge. It isn't. It's just some scaffold and planks. And an almighty gap that screams "CHEAP KNOCK OFF SECOND RATE" into the faces of the upper tier fans for every moment of every game.
The view is equally bad, regardless if the stands are retractable or not.

Said on the radio that Bilic is not happy that the west ham bench is 30m from the touchline.

Edit: Thats metres not miles:D
The owners have fudged him there.

Their insistence that the stands would not be miles away from the pitch now means that they can't erect a dugout near the pitch as it would just accentuate how far it is from the stands.

The papers seem to be very positive about "west hams new home" today, at least the headlines are anyway.

Judging by those pictures though it looks a bit embarrassing?

Probably looked good once they stepped out of their taxi and walk straight in to the media entertainment lounge for their gratis food and drinks.

So how often does the stadium get used for other events during the season? Can they now leave it all set up like this for months or do they have to put everything back how they found it every time they finish a game?

The next event listed is Rugby League Four Nations in November, then nothing after that until Athletics next summer. So if the temporary seating is left in place for the rugby, it could be set up for months, maybe the whole season, unless any other events are added at relatively short-notice.
The LLDC needs to step up its marketing. It's supposed to be low rental to WH because they'll be sharing it with lots of other events.

Takes more than week to set up/take down, so not enough time during international breaks. Will only be other field activities.

I wonder if the long term plan is to slowly phase out the retractable seating (starting with cup replays, europa league games etc), once the excitement over new digs dies down, does anyone know if they have sold season tickets for those blocks?

Ian Darke and John Hartson trying to discuss West Ham, but can't even remember which players they have. Juventus lead 2-0 after 21 minutes.
