The 'If You Still Need to Purge Yourself Of Ange' Thread

Maybe I'm being too sensitive. I guess I should just stay out of this thread because I just see the same names here to dunk on and score points on the manager who won us a European trophy.

Similar to why I stay out of most of the player-specific threads in general. Very rarely makes for good reading.

In fairness mate, with the general state of everything, I think all our sensitivities are vulnerable. Whatever works best to feel good...

It's an accumulation of all of the brick that's been said about him on here.

This is the Ange thread- are you going to pounce on any negative discussion of him moving forwards because of this accumulation? Because I've gotta say that's very much a you problem - people are free to discuss him, even if that involves a spot of schadenfreude

You're a mod, has anyone done anything about the absolute trash @Jordinho posted on Lmultiple occasions?

Not really fair to discuss other posters in an open manner but from what I saw he was publicly criticised for what was posted. We're all grown men here and I'm not a babysitter - this place does a good job of policing itself as far as I'm concerned and very rarely needs input from the moderating team.

It's actually really hard to watch the Ange car-crash at Forest now i must say....

At the start it was quite interesting, but after 6 games and no wins and their fans doing those chants, boy....

Just reading the Forest message board. I'm not having a go at that club because they are no different than anyone else really. But Jesus f**king Christ.

Ange is already getting personal abuse that rivals anything posted here over his two years. Some of it is naked xenophobia, some is just very unpleasant. They are recoiling at the thought of a Sean Dyche or someone managing them. Dyche is a bloody good football manager. Everything seems to centre around a right to "go to the next level".

Don't get me wrong, every club should aspire to better things but no club has a right to it and failure to achieve something unprecedented in recent history is not failure on the part of a manager. If we were all held to that standard in our jobs, we'd be unemployed.

The sense of entitlement from football fans is getting worse (and it's probably not just football - look at last week's Ryder Cup). This "I pay my money so I'll have my opinion" even if that opinion is nothing more than vitriolic abuse is a nonsense. To hear our lads being booed last Saturday was shameful on our fans IMO.

And I looked at their message board. Message boards tend to have more reasoned people than general social media.

There isn’t a next level with that owner, only a matter of time before they are back in the championship and in a financial mess.

The truth of his current tenure at Forest is they should've won at least three of those games, possibly more, and have been battering sides in terms of actual play.

I haven't watched those games but it does occur to me that I found myself saying exactly what you wrote there so many times. Spurs being the better side and deserving a win or a draw but ending up with these sucker punch goals because of perceived flaws in the tactical system. It's probably the biggest thing that I hope Ange takes from his Spurs experiences if he aspires to stick around in this league. There was just that little spark of hope this time a year ago where perhaps some of the many defensive stats we all saw suggested he was turning a corner defensively. Then the injuries and I guess we never got to find out in the league as it was just more of the same. In the EL, we definitely saw the type of system that he would be best off operating with Forest to dig himself out of this hole. I remember our 2 points from 8 games season start under Juande. Harry came in, stopped the full-backs crossing the half way line, got the defensive shield in and rebuilt us to some free flowing football later in the season.

This season will be a cracker in my opinion. Obviously, the 3 promoted teams are always pegged for relegation when the season starts. I just have a feeling that one or perhaps two of the existing PL side may drop. To quote Keegan "I would love it" if that was Hammers but actually have no problem if Forest go with them. That is perhaps an irrational disdain for their chairman over anything else and his treatment of the gentleman Nuno.

If it was only the chairman who suffered from relegation, most Forest fans would support it.

Based on recent seasons Sunderland are a third of the way to safety and Leeds a quarter. Burnley are the only ones in clear trouble. At least one of Wolves, West Ham and Forest seem likely to drop and it could be all three.
