The Goon Thread

It's funny how they complain about Saka not being rested for his country when they have played him non stop for the past 287 PL games in a row without any rest!

playing for them is his actual job, I'm not happy when our lot waste valuable energy in meaningless internationals either

Those poor whibbling gewwners. Apparently Lee Carswell had the unmitigated gall to start TWO! Arsenal players in back to back games for England. Which sets off a wave of whinging. Like, Carswell, a new manager trying to get to grips with his new squad, has the slightest responsibility to any one club to coddle their players with an eye to league play.

On an international break where they had to play on Saturday in Dublin and Tuesday at Wembley. Couldn't have been much easier, barring a visit from San Marino. And Kane happily started both games. They really don't have the first fcukin' clue about life in general.

“Starboy” 🤣🤣🤣 … that’s the 3rd time this week I’ve heard those clams refer to the choker as that.

Why the fudge are they crying about Rice starting when he's suspended for the derby? Oh, this is Twitter - got it.....

Right from the moment Saka went down “injured” in the 82th minute in the NLD and the medical team spent 2.5 minutes on the field, holding up the game and taking the edge of any kind of pressure for an equalizer, I knew he would start the midweek CL game. He is often subbed around the 80 mark when in the lead, and it’s clear it was tactical to make the most of the sub. Pathetic limping off. Hate modern cynical football, not entertaining anymore.
I want the last minute drama, even if it would be at our expense. I don’t want this constant interruptions and delays as a wet blanket on the experience.

Their assistants were always at the ready to run on with the water bottles and stuff too. It's really weird to watch them sometimes. For a team that just grinds out wins with a solid system and some gamesmanship with absolutely zero flair they get far too many plaudits

GHod I wish we did that

That's why I loved how they added time for every sub, injury, "injury" and other time wasting incidents last season. It baffles me that they stopped it.

Granted, it does nothing for the lost momentum there and then, but at least it made time wasting a little less rewarding.

Someone should find a stat of players that have required the most on-field treatment.. would be interesting to see 👀

Am up with my three young impressionable nephews who have been led to make a very very bad choice in terms of whom they support. Have been undermining this by explaining their historic crimes.

Just asked the eldest if he has heard of Osama Bin Laden and Hitler and asked if he knew they were both season ticket holders.

The youngest had been given a ticket to tour their ground but it has lapsed - so I have offered to take him for a stadium tour in north London next time he visits- but it will be Spurs and we’ll visit the shop after so I can buy him his new shirt.
