To be fair all nationalities do this.
Go to china town in London and it is full of Chinese tourists.
If I am away and want to watch football I will go to a bar which has tv in it. Often the expats bars are best for this. If I just want a night out I would not go near one of these places.

Having been born and raised in Camden from Irish ancestry I can confidently state that "Irish bars/pubs" are as authentically Irish as most Irish international footballer!

While I agree that they definitely aren't 'typical' like you said, I have yet to find a single city, regardless of how large or small, regardless of how far flung, that doesn't have an 'Irish pub' somewhere. I can imagine Pyongyang doesn't have one...?
