Wenger is a master of humiliating teams that are of a lower quality to his but he struggles to come up with a game plan to combat any team that is superior or is of equal quality to his. It's for that very reason why he hasn't won the Champions League. I guess you could also extend that argument to his failure to win the league once it became more competitive.

The goons on Facebook have gone mad, all calling for Wenger's head with one saying

the man has stayed 500 games too long

and another saying

I hope we lose to Wigan next week and its time for a change of manager. I wpild rather be in debt and winning titles. Lets get Usmanov on thr board with his huge wallet and let him spend. Wenger out!!!!!

Knowing our luck they'll either rub it in our faces for months about the FA Cup or get Van Gaal in ](*,)

I kinda see where they are coming from, if I was an arsenal fan I'd expect more as well

it's one thing for us to complain about not buying things we probably can't afford, but they are minted, if they can spend 42m on Ozil just think how much they must have available for a player they need

they could easily upgrade chesney/Wheelchair/Giroud for half of what they spent on Ozil and be twice the team for it, the man has a mental block

saying that, I wish we'd had him here instead

i disagree with the overall sentiments of your post tbh, although i can understand why you (and many others) would see it like you do.

basically, i think arsenal are a team with a simlar stature to victims and us. ie. they are smaller than Emirates Marketing Project, chelsea, man utd. and in europe, the likes of barcelona and bayern are bigger than them.

therefore, it makes perfect sense to me, that when you compare arsenal against city, utd, bayern, real madrid etc, they do not fair too well. i suspect if you compared our's and victims's record against that calibre of team, it wouldnt be too disimilar to arsenal's.

and re arsenal vs "weaker" teams, it makes perfect sense that they do well vs them because they are a club of a higher stature than those teams.

in the last few seasons, arsenal have finished 3rd or 4th for the most part. ie. below manutd, city, chelsea, but above the rest of the epl. thus, it makes perfect sense to me that arsenal do well vs "weaker epl teams" and not so well against those 3 teams above them.

no doubt arsenal could spend more. highlighted by their cash reserves of c. £100m.

but any arsenal fan who thinks that spending £100m will change the fortunes of arsenal much is deluded. football is not about 1 or 2 individual players. if arsenal want to really improve, they need to have major improvements throughout their 25 man sqaud. if you look at the chelsea and city squads, and compare the players like for like against arsenal, the arsenal players are generally marginally weaker.

football is a team game, and if arsenal want to be genuinely competitve against the likes of city, they need to spend hundreds of millions every few years.

losing or gaining one superstar player doesnt change much. in the seasons following when arsenal lost henry, fabregas, nasri respectively, arsenal gained more points in the league (but generally still performed at the same level as they had done previously, in that they finished top 4). after man utd lost ronaldo, in the following 4 seasons, they finished 2nd, 1st, 2nd, 1st. after selling falcao, atleti are doing even better.

and look at us. despite the negatively surrounding us at the moment it looks like we're going to finish 5th. ie. basically the same general position as we did when we had gareth bale. same can be said for luka modric too.

my point is, spending £100m next transfer window will do little for arsenal. they will still be smaller than the likes of city and chelsea (and in general terms, man utd too). the only thing spending £100m will do is leave their owner's pockets £100m short. If they really want to be a powerhouse in england and europe, they need to be spending many many hundreds of millions of great british pounds.

I'm not saying they should expect a title, but they should certainly expect to not have humiliating results like today

These statements from arsenal fans shows what is wrong with football fans these days. they can't see that they have a ****ing genius on their hands.

thats football tho. sometimes they will suffer humiliating defeats. and other times they will be handing them out. spending £100m doesn't provide any garuntee that a team will never lose 6-0.

I enjoyed watching and reading about l'**** and l'arsene today. 1,000th never to be forgotten ! And we'll never let them, or the blue c'unts, will we ... Just wish we hand this out like candy to 'em. Oh Ramos The Exorcist, he briefly made me a Believer ! Lol

Is it time for that jpeg from last week which was altered with a **** shower to be re-introduced? I just wish it wasn't to an equal pack of cnuts! oh well, I'll take it!!!! :)

But that argument is flawed. Its not a case of being "bigger" or "smaller" then the likes of City, Utd or Chelsea. Its about winning and clubs CAN break this monopoly and win things. With all the money, players, management stability, and experience of winning things, Arsenal have failed miserabley this last (almost) decade.

victims are not "bigger" then these teams but could very well win the title this year with a young manager who is just 41 years old. They have also won the Champions League, the FA Cup and the League Cup in the time since Arsenal have won a trophey.

The worst thing about it is that it could / should have been us in that position. We are very lucky that Arsenal have Wenger as manager - if they had the balls to sack him and they had a "winning" manager these last 8 years I shudder to think of the tropheys they would have won (and humiliation we would have faced). It will be a dark day for us when Wenger goes. I have no doubt in my mind that a new manager will have them back winning tropheys. Its crazy to think that Arsenal have'nt won a trophey in over 8 years and we STILL have'nt overtaken them. What does that say about us. We had our chance (chances) and we blew it. Will that chance ever come again ?

I've always considered victims to be the 2nd biggest team in England after Man U.
