The General Transfer Rumours and Speculation Thread

Are we the most appealing club in Europe for an up and coming striker? Club going places, promoting youth, boss proven to improve players, CL, and only one other striker on the books.
 
Wasnt it presumed that a deal for Berahino over the summer was a fait accomplit?? Why has talk of that fallen off? Has he lost his lustre?

Think we can get better if we qualify for the CL

The Bartra rumours make a lot of sense to me; aside from just being cheap, he could be both our 4th CB and cover/competition for Dier. If the price rumoured for him are true, we could sell Fazio and sign Bartra for minimal net outlay.

I cant see us signing many players this summer - Batshuayi, Bartra and someone who could challenge Alli/Lamela/Eriksen in the 3 spots behind Kane would represent an excellent summer and provide strength in depth in the positions where we're lacking cover at the moment

Why would he trade Barca's bench for ours, though? I like where you're going with the idea, but Bartra is likely to want first-team football wherever he goes.

He's barely played for them this year. For us, I could see him playing 10-15 games as DM for us and maybe 10-20 at CB....somewhere around that. Obviously if Dier or Alderweireld picked up a long-term injury, he'd play a lot more. Would depend on what he wanted - if he wants to be a first choice who plays week in, week out then I think he'd probably have to go to a EL rather than CL team

EVen though I wanted Saudi Sportswashing Machine to lose today I am really happy for Townsend, 4 league goals in 11 matches, good for him. I really wanted him to come good for us here at Spurs, but if not at least he is beginning to show some of the talent I have always known he possesses

Change of system more IMO. I don't think more orthodox wide players will ever really work in our 4-2-3-1
