The French Are Revolting

Viva la revolution!!!

Like most parts of the western world, the people are tinkled at their declining standard of living while the 1% hoard more and more of the wealth.

Personally I would love to see more of this in other parts of the world (including the US).

That doesn’t really apply to France though. The top 1% of earners in some provinces there pay a 54.9% blended rate once social security if factored in. Capital gains is 34.5%. They have an extremely progressive and generous welfare and social security system. They just don’t have a strong enough economy to support it anymore.

Meanwhile the British government wants to move further in their direction. Make it make sense.
we won't ever join the Euro - we just need tariff free trade so we don't have products sat in Port of London for weeks on end because someone couldn't work out the latest change to incoterms.

As someone who has worked for 3 entities that import all its goods from the EU and far east, I can honestly say the last few years have been hell/hilarious depending on which way your mind goes.

No reason why that could not be negotiated.

Is that not just going back to what we had. Open borders, no Schengen, free movement for trade, keep the pound??

what do you feel is a reasonable price the country should pay to free you from this additional burden - could you sell it to the masses to whom it makes fudge all difference?

Harder the job the better, less likely to be replaced by the Robots.
