Just had a quick check, Spanish and our close at the same time. Think GB may be getting mixed up with the Portugese window, their closes 2days before ours for some reason

Also been told that AVB would prefer the Brazilian.
He really wanted him last year; to the point where it still niggles him.
Juventus and Liverpool have both spoken to his agent.
For me; and this is just opinion from the whispers I heard today; this deal has Tottenham (Levy) all over it.

Since we all rejoicing over the Villa result today; I thought I’ll also add that I was told today that Arsenal are nowhere near signing anyone of significance. That might change after our result today.

I'm pretty sure most countries are keeping with the standard 31 August deadline, and it's only the EPL that has extended theirs to the Monday.

I can believe the Willian thing, I think AVB did actually come out with a quote to the effect of 'It's annoying that somebody of such talent has gone to play in Russia'.

And if he is AVB's boy, I really just cannot believe we will let Liverpool get him. If they had front options of Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho, Willian, Aspas, Sterling...that's damn good.

I think part of the Siggy signing was that I think AVB did think he would be useful, especially with an eventual move to 4-3-3, but also that it stopped Liverpool getting a player who would definitely work in Rodgers' system and make it work. It's a big part of getting ahead of them, and we need to do the same with Willian.

It does have Levy all over it. We let Liverpool come in, shoot their load all over him, before coming in with the real offer that he wants. I have to believe that everything we have here, Baldini's persuasion, the AVB relationship, the squad ahead of Liverpool in development...Paulinho and Sandro...he should come here.
 
It's only been extended because 31 August is a weekend although not sure why that actually matters - maybe some stock market regulations for some club?

And technically theyre not working days - so either you end the window on the friday a day or two before the end of the month or the day following end of the month.
 
i'd think carefully about what AVB says to the press regarding transfer activity - unlike redknapp he's smart enough to understand that he is also paid to say the right things for the club.

I doubt this very much. Joe Lewis's daughter must be pushing 60yo.

sorry, meant to update earlier. I'm not great on clues.

what I was told was

'Bale is gone but we're spending really big this week'

wasn't told who we're spending on. Presume its either Willian or Lamela

I'm hoping that the info is not a fact that Bale sale has already been sold like some ITK has said - but that we are presuming that RM will cough up what we want for Bale.

The hope is that if this is the case, its always possible that RM won't actually cough up and so Bale will stay.
