The talk of Defoe, I wouldn't want him back on a permanent deal.
But could see him come on one of those MLS winter loan deals to cover if Adebayor and Togo qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations
 
Defoe? No thanks. Good servant to the club and all that, but we learnt first and second time around how streaky he is and how limited his overall play is.

Sell Paulinho, Vlad and Lennon, chuck £10-15m more into the kitty and do what this club has not done for 5 years, e.g invest in an all round top level number 9.

I was with you when you got to the 'why' but you forgot to write the 'who'?

Who would you go for? And who, of that calibre, do you think would come to us?
 
Shame we didnt go for Negredo? Suited to English football and that was evident, can score goals and has strong link up play.

What, so he would come in and wouldn't need time to gel and bed in and adapt to what Poch wants and his system and style of play? Count me in!;)
 
Not many 30 goal a season strikers around these days

And even fewer that would come to us

I hear Ronaldo is unhappy
 
Only one that springs to mind who is MAYBE affordable, and we'd have to throw a ton of wages at, is Gonzalo Higuain.
