Sadly I think Spurs are be a little too ‘thrifty’ ‘sensible’ and even ‘brave’ as we look very lightweight in midfield.
We might be able to loan some players from Liverpool
They have an excellent squad due to thier “utter stupidity”!

Still don’t think they have an excellent squad personally but their the trendy side currently
Our midfield isn’t lightweight it’s just suffered a lot of injuries and 2 of our first picks aren’t on this tour

I’d rather see us play Skipp or Amos rather than buy another squad filler

Unless we can buy a better player than we have then why buy someone
Dembele is rumoured to be off but nothing has happened on that
Not sure why he is on any injured list as he should still be on his “holiday” time after the WC
Dier will play and we can play Alli and or eriksen there too

We need a replacement for Dembele and Wanyama. They are both too injury prone!
Not fare on Skipp or Amos just yet imho. Thier time will come.
We need to invest in a few of the finished article or we can forget titles.

I agree with your comments about Wanyama and Dembele but I also think that when would Skipp and Amos get a chance otherwise?
They won’t develop without games and playing in a settled team is the easiest way to integrate them

It’s a noble but very high risk strategy to keep going to that well!
It’s great when it works. But the Dele and Grealish type purchases are vital.
It now looks like Grealish is off the menu which is a shame.
I also think we missed a trick with Shaqiri. But I’m guessing Pool blew us out of the water with wages!
We are caught between a rock and a bolder!
A couple of proven quality central midfielders are a must and as type very unlikely.

Sitting here today though it feels a little underwhelming and bleak and it’s so hard to see Spurs grabbing silverware in the near future.
Then I see use struggling to keep our Eriksens and even Sanchez's.

I might have some of those wrong but I think they look in reasonable shape where as we look a bit thin for the first month unless we buy.
What are the chances of the window ending up with something along the lines of:
In: De Ligt, [new CM - Ndombele?], Grealish, Martial
Out: Alderweireld, Dembele, Sissoko, GKN, Llorente, Janssen
Even though net spend wouldn't be too horrific and we'd be +1 English player, still probably very low chance (though it would improve the balance of the squad a lot). Would be a lot of transfers to get done in 11 days though even if most of the deals will be largely advanced already.
My hopes for the window are now really just that the TA and MD replacements are good enough that we end up roughly no worse than last season

Poor old Winks.
I’m just not convinced we will see him back anytime soon which is horrible for Harry.
I truly don’t think we can hope to complete being continuously under the pump financially.
Levy is hoping that revenue increases will gallop in and fill the void, not convinced we will be that lucky every year!
