Steve Perryman - Book!

Picked mine up from the P.O earlier - personalised message and signature on the inside is defo worth the extra few quid over buying from elsewhere.

Thanks for the heads up @Goatleaf

I've listened to some fantastic podcasts from the great man recently, promoting his book.

Tales of just how good Ossie was as a manager, and just how bad Alan Sugar was as a Chairman.

Brilliant tales from back in the day, spanning an incredible career.

E.g. when he and Ossie managed a Japanese team to the title year after year, something Wenger couldn't manage... then Wenger came to England and won the double in his first year.... a slap in the eye for Sugar, who had thrown Ossie and Steve under the bus.

Who else played from the black and white Greaves era through to the multi colour UEFA Cup wins?

Who else scored in each of 17 seasons for Spurs?

My old lady has got it me for Xmas.

I don't know whether Steve wrote this himself or it is ghost written but either way it certainly came across as very genuine, just like the man himself. I have quite a few Spurs player books and I enjoyed this one the most by some distance. It helped that his career started the same year I started supporting Spurs so the references to all the players known then but long since forgotten like Phil Holder, Jimmy Pearce, Roger Morgan, Denis Bond really meant something and brought back some great memories.

Getting this for Christmas as well. He was born in the same month and year as me and I watched pretty well every home match he played for Spurs, from his debut as a heavy tacking skinhead teenager to his last game as a greying full back. Still one of my favourite Spurs players and would be in my best ever Spurs team as captain.

I have read several books by ex spurs players or about them ( John white, Alan Gilzean)... All of them were very good , apart from one which was quite dull ( I won't say who) but my probable favourite was one that surprised me and it was by Ricky Villa... From memory it was lots of pesknal stuff and humour mixed in with the football...

As several others have said I will drop hints with the kids for Christmas and also for the one by Hugo Lloris...
