Son Heung-Min

He had plenty of doubters on this forum. Where are they now? When you have so many average players în the squad, you dont dump on the star. He might have some poor games but shines în the vast majority, while for others poor games are their average. He has given us so much until now and continues to do so. If anyone, HE is the one, the one most deserving of our respect.

This despite Salah playing for a much stronger all round team than Son.

Surely the time has now come to acknowledge that our South Korean maestro is currently, at the very least, on a par with his world-class Liverpool counterpart?

Son hasnt been a support striker, since Mourinho came in. If anyone is the support striker its Kane who you will constantly find deep. Son is the one constantly making runs against the last line of defence, hence why most of his goals these days are running through on goal or finishes inside the box somewhere centrally. Whereas Salah scores most of his goals and chances created from starting out wide, I know thats a convenient comparison for you to make because Son has exceeded Salahs stats of late but they are not playing the same role and if it was Salah who had Kane feeding him every week I know who I would back to have the better stats.

Anyway, I love Son I just dont think he is 'world class' yet but this season has definitely pushed him closer to that category. You think he's world class then fine, there's no specific definition and is very much subjective....

I’d back son to score more than salah in the pool side
He can use two feet and has a better record of finishing. That’s factual by the way, not an opinion

salah does have goals he has created himself of course but then so does son

Eric Dier and Ben Davies have been our most consistent players all season yet any little mistake or slightly bad performance they get 3 pages worth of brick and people slating them. When Son has a tinkle poor game no one is allowed to vent their frustration because all of the fan boys chirp up as you cannot disrespect the golden child. This has been my argument the whole time, the spacegoats don’t get the credit and Son gets unnecessary credit for tinkle poor performances.

Son is top scorer în the league without penalties. He is our golden boy along with Harry. If they wouldn't be at the club we wouldn't be în the top half, while Davies and Dier could be replaced by someone like De Vrij and Romagnoli this summer for 15m total. Dier and Davies do have a good season and make less mistakes than în the past. On the field they are helped by being 3 at the back, safety în numbers. Also play alongside Romero, the guy with the most won duels in the league. When Conte was talking about the distance between us and the top teams, that big difference în quality, he was not talking about Sonny or Harry. They are indispensable to the team.

Dier has had a very good season compared to his output in previous years, but Davies? You’re saying he’s been more consistent than Son? Seriously? He’s cost us points against Wolves and has made mistakes that luckily went unpunished. Son has literally outscored everyone in the league other than Mo Salah. We’d be doing very well if we could sign someone better than Son. We could quite easily replace Davies and Dier.

This strawman argument is getting tiring.
a) no one is suggesting that only Kane or Son are at fault
b) other players do get plenty of blame, but for good measure you should include PEH and Dier in your list of untouchable players
c) I don't think anyone here has been too keen with Conte's tactical inflexibility

If it's one or two people here who truly think Son is brick, we can probably just ignore their opinions. It's pretty clear to me that most fans appreciate Son and love him both as a player and as a human being.

So these games that Davies cost us, Son didn’t do the same when he had 1 of his brick games and we lost? When we couldn’t even get a shot on target? This Post is exactly my point.

Maybe if we have had a couple of attackers who turned up in big games we may have actually achieved something.

Its laughable how you belittle all these other players but i am the criminal for talking about Son and Kane :D. The fact you are saying Romero is the reason for the other 2 being consistent shows how shallow minded you are on the subject. Dier is the leader of that back 3 and that is fact and Conte even said that Dier could become one of the best CB’s in the league due to how much he is improving. I guarantee you Dier is in that back 3 next season.

The main reason for that is because there are fans who have said both players are brick and big holes in our side so many times that they can not take it back. They feel that giving them any credit makes what they said before makes them look slightly foolish. ( at best).

That's not true. I've seen Sonny get pelters on here for bad performances. The ones up at Middlesbrough and Old Trafford particularly. I never once saw anyone defending those performances or say criticism of him isn't allowed. What I have seen is posters, me included, say that you can't drop Sonny because he's so much better than the replacements and even when he's off form, he'll either still chip in with goals or is never far away from a run of goals.

Dier and Davies have been very good this season on a fairly consistent basis incidentally.

I praised Son multiple times in the match thread Sunday, i don’t dislike the guy, me digging them out is just repeating the same argument as people like to take swipes at previous comments when ever they do well.

No, I fear it may be who is confused my friend. Maybe go back and re-read it. You made your comment in relation to Yiddo's defence of Dier and Davies. Yet his incessant criticisms of our top two strikers over the past few weeks that have been tedious to say the least.

Given your views on posters who are supposedly reluctant to give credit to players they've previously criticised I'd have thought Yiddo would be among the last you'd spring to the defence of.

But, hey ho.
