If they do it for the football they will have to for all other sports so I don't think it's likelyI have a feeling that they will give exemptions if they make the final. Don't think Japan will be as much of an issue as people think either.

Interesting...Son would have been 22 when South Korea won it in 2014, so eligible without being an overaged player. I wonder why he didn’t play.
Come on Sonny make up for that missed opportunity!
That was a poor pen. His run up was way too straight, so he could barely shoot to the right, hence it was way inside the post and the keeper should have got it.
Why didn't Son take it, was he on the pitch?
Kind of look like he play nervously as well, didn't look like a Premier League star out there.
He looked crap in the World Cup as well.

The reason that Asian games get it but the Asian cup doesn't even though its an inferior football tournament is due to a backlash after the WC, they can't be seen giving football preference again. If they do similarly well, they may well do that. But they don't have one of the biggest footballers in the world (and easily the countries biggest star) putting pressure on them.
Either way, if Moura can continue the way he has started the season we need not worry too much.If they do similarly well, they may well do that. But they don't have one of the biggest footballers in the world (and easily the countries biggest star) putting pressure on them.

I am told kpop and baseball have bigger stars than him and they were not given a way out, don't expect any favours.

I am not having a pop genuinely interested to see if you have more info than me.... other than your gut feeling why do you think some concession may be made this time?In theory, you’re spot on...but just seems like some concession might be made this time.

expert in the area https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45277281 confirms that the bigger you are the harder it is to get out of it. Quite a few examples there including:
In 2015 golfer Bae Sang-moon - a PGA Tour professional ranked in the world's top 100 - argued that his residency in the United States meant he should be allowed to delay his service until his top-level career was over.
A court in Daegu ruled otherwise and he spent two years as a rifleman in his nation's army.
Baek Cha-seung, a baseball pitcher who played for the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres in the mid-2000s, had to renounce his Korean citizenship in favour of an American passport to keep playing.

As per wiki that is not a loophole but the rule and its gold for the Asian cup...(the football team were not given the exception on a whim from 2004 http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2004-09/02/content_371041.htm) , there was a big backlash after the WC and baseball in 2008 and they doubled down on the rules so unlikely to change againOr 4 weeks.
Did you read my post above?
I think they meet North Korea no matter what. Can they meet North Korea in the final?
