So, what happened today?

The hotel we are staying at in Rome only has staff on site in the morning. One evening we came back from dinner and there was a couple who had managed to get in the main door of the building but couldn’t get into the hotel itself. They were French with very little English. I managed to muster up enough to help them get in touch with the guy who ran the reception and explained a few things to them about the hotel.
This morning they just stopped by the breakfast room to thank me again for my help and gave me what they described as a small gift. Absolutely lovely of them but totally unnecessary.
Just opened it now and there’s a bottle of olive oil, a jar of marmalade and a jar of honey. Lovely. Except each one is over the 100ml hand luggage restrictions. So not sure what to do with them now!
Very nice of you to help them & Very nice of them to give you a gift can you post them back home

My grass needs water but it's too hot to go out so I'm looking at it instead from the window.
Controversial opinion. Lawns are ecological monoculture dead zones whose only purpose was to flaunt wealth and resources by wasting the land. Unless you are playing football on it stick some native plants out there instead :smirk: .

What's the temperature where you are?

I am pretty sure the UK are treaty obligated (and uk companies such as BAE and RR are contractually obliged) to supply relevant parts to all member countries as part of the "joint strike fighter programme" (that develops and maintains the F35). BAE and Rolls Royce significant contributors to the F35 programme and many of the other specialist parts are manufactured or assembled in the UK.

Well if you have Popeyes, Paddington Bears and Pooh Bears addresses you're sorted?

My lawn has been hay coloured for a good while....still some clover, speedwell, daises and catears knocking about though.

And sure enough the high court has ruled that a judgement that "the UK must withdraw from a specific multilateral defence collaboration which is reasonably regarded by the responsible ministers as vital to the defence of the UK and to international peace and security" is beyond the competency of the court....
