Hmmm I think its a little grey, exploiting a position to build a relationship is classed as grooming officially .

Plays in the pentatonic box sure but there is feeling and soul there, his GNR stuff is anthemic, velvet revolver was just filthy.

You could make an argument he’s not technically perfect, but you could say the same about Axl’s singing, didn’t stop either of them being absolutely perfect in their role for a band that was the biggest thing on the planet for 4/5 years and at the very least architects of the greatest album ever released.

I'm a good guitar player and if I was to compile a list of the best 100 technical players I've heard he wouldn't be on it. Too predictable and sloppy as you kinda admit. I hear nothing more than an above-average player. He has style and a good image but that's about it IMO.

I would agree though the best guitar players don't always make the best the music. However, I would disagree with GNR being the biggest thing on the planet with the greatest album ever. Each to their own though.

There's more to being a good guitarist than being technically good.

My wife's knowledge of guitar goes no further than her liking guitar bands and thinking mine should be turned down but she could recognise Slash playing in an instant.
