Sick sick world what is wrong with people

I grew up Catholic. I was an altar boy, in the boy scouts and taught by Christian brothers. If you drew a Venn diagram of who was most likely to be in trouble I'm pretty sure I was right smack bang in the middle of it. I rolled a six though and managed to avoid the hidden nasties somehow. I was at one point even considering priesthood but fortunately I saw the light in time. Gaia is my only religion now.
Tell me you were an ugly child, without telling me you were an ugly child...

Southport stabbing suspect Axel Rudakubana, 18, has denied murdering three young girls - Elsie Dot Stancombe, Alice da Silva Aguiar and Bebe King - in the attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class.

Mr Rudakubana appeared at Liverpool Crown Court via a video link but refused to speak when asked to confirm his name and enter his pleas, so the judge Mr Justice Goose entered them on his behalf.

In the same way, Mr Rudakubana also pleaded not guilty to attempting to murder 10 other people, including eight children, on 29 July.

Charges of producing the biological toxin ricin and possessing terrorist materials were also put to him but, again, he did not respond and not guilty pleas were entered.
Odd that he is being charged with having terrorist material but people went to prison for calling him a terrorist.

If they were entitled to legal aid they could be making a claim.

Maybe I missed it but did anyone go to prison for calling him a terrorist? People went to prison for a number of charges, mostly either violent behaviour or incitement to violence or hate speech related (and not just white people either before anyone else - not you - jumps in).
To be clear, I hope he gets the maximum possible penalty. But that doesn’t mean others were entitled act dangerously or spread/encourage hatred.

Of course when I register a 'like' here, it isn't for the despicable crime, it's for the quiet point @LutonSpurs is making. I find it sadly unsurprising that his posts have had no reactions.

I think like me people are appalled by paedophiles and can't think of any response other than wanting to torture and terrify them as much as they have with their victims, there is no group (economic, faith, race or gender) that don't have these vile species hiding within them.

I watched Spotlight the other week again, such a great film, Keaton and Ruffalo are excellent, but it sent me down a rabbit hole on the whole scandal and its incredible how much of a cover up it was from parents who almost put their kids up to it to keep in the good graces of the church all the way to the police who were being given donation by the church........

Happened on a mass scale over here too, the scandal behind adoptions and the laundries.....stuff thats still being covered up today.

Shocking world we live in at times, abuse of power to be seen everywhere you look seemingly

If you’ve not seen it already I can highly recommend, Cillian Murphy’s new movie, Small Things Like These which focuses on the Magdalene Laundries. I went to a Catholic primary school but thankfully the nuns there weren’t sadists.

Not 100% sure. I do remember people calling for people to go to prison for labelling him a terrorist.

The ones that were petrol bombing buildings should have gone down for attempted murder. But I'm not a lawyer, just a sometimes decent human being.

Bad people join power organisations (religions, political parties, corporations etc) not because they believe any of their philosophy, ideology or company statement, but because it gives them a cloak under which to operate.

I'm not so sure about that.

The entire Christian religion is based on a story about GHod r@ping a virgin.

Islam is based on the teachings of a nonce.

That stuff is woven into the thread of religion all over the world.

have not seen it and will seek it out. My Mum's descriptions of childhood education were firmly Magdelene Sisters territory, except she constantly rebelled...and got punished often :-(
