This is iso emblematic of the wider isssue.
He's talking about Israel's football team and upon seeing a Israeli fan next to him says that Israels football team are not that bad.
The Israeli supporter immediately starts saying "No politics here!". Cos if you critise Israel in anyway what so ever you've contravened offical defintions of anti-semtiism.
Never mind that it's a kick about. Instantly some mild cirtiism of Israel's footballing ability is turned into implied racialisation on part of the 'accusor'.
The guy tries to explain, to ignore it but is still told not to bring "politic" into it.
Eventually realisiing he can't win either way he chants "free, free Palestine!"
He's met by a chorus of "fudge you! fudge you! fudge you!"
Cos how dare he chant for the freedom of a partiuclar group of people!
Any recongition of the state of Palestine. Any consideration of the possibilty that 5 million people should in anyway have a voice of their own - is completely rephrensilbe to certain quarters of the Israeli population.
Again, has nothing to do with race or ethnciity. The world is starting to wake up. And any Jewish or Israeli person whose brave enough to break with the status quo - the Israeli govenrment's line - and conedmn the actions of Israel. Is a true hero. And deserves to be applaueded for having the common sense to disengage from group think and use their own intiatiive to assess the situation as a whole - but speciifcally the Israeli governemnts actions.
