Serious relegation fears

I think we should change this back to race to the top four. Looking at our offering today Man Utd will be fancying doing us big time. I think with our run in we are primed as the club Man Utd will be looking at to get past. There is no chance we will beat Man U at home, Liverpool away or Chelsea away. We might get 1 point, Man U at home. I think we are going to start collecting defeats.

Cheer up fella, I think your meds are making you negative.

We played stupidly at times today, but are not a bad team, particularly compared to this year's Pool/Cheats/Manure

How many points do you think we'll take from Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool games? I think 1, maybe 2 but i'd be surprised. What do you think?

We are looking like flat track bullies in a way, as the system allows us to contain and eventually break down the poorer teams. We do however lack the world class players that can make a goal out of nothing, like Kane did today. We need another player of that standard to really go up a level.

Anyways, as far as the race goes, we can only hope Leicester continue to stumble against the smaller teams. We need to beat Man UTD at home, no question. They are on a nice run right now and they seem to have got some confidence from somewhere. With that said, they still have league games vs Wham, Emirates Marketing Project, Everton, Leicester and us. Their run in is as hard as ours, so its not all plain sailing.

Was really frustrated by today's result but it could've been worse, before the sending off it didn't look goof fron us. After the first 15 mins I didn't see a great deal from us until then. Gonna have to wait and see how Leicester do tonight before we see it as a complete disaster.

And eveb after that there's still a long way to go.

League isn't won until it's won

We're light years ahead of where i expected yet not as good as I hoped before the game....

We did the job I expected I just didn't think they would score with every shot they had

Onwards and upwards

Of course we're still on the title race. No need to change the thread title. We could've and should've been in a better position, but lost two points today unfortunately.

It's Leicester's title to lose now though, we need them to screw up to win.

I still have us down as winning the title by 1 point on 73; Man C 2nd on 72, Arse on 71 and Leics on 71

Below is what I have for our results and points after each game. I don't think its unrealistic

Villa (a) W 58
Bournemouth (h) W 61
Liverpoo (a) D 62
Manure (h) W 65
Stoke (a) D 66
West Brom (h) W 69
Cheatski (a) L 69
Soton (h) W 72
Saudi Sportswashing Machine (a) D 73

There's a reasonable chance that all of our last 4 games might against teams with nothing to play for

Arsenal will never play like that against Pulis's West Brom and Everton away next. They were up for it because it was the NLD. Same as we were for the last 19 years during the Wenger era never letting them have an easy game.
City are now 2 points behind them with a game in hand. And United will be just 2 behind them if they win tomorrow.
They're happy today but this could be the season they miss out on the top 4.

Stating the obvious a lot depends on 1) how we handle the EL Dortmund games. If we can get 6 points from the PL games after each tie then we're in a good position. If we exit the EL, then its 7 cup finals, and with key players fit, you wouldn't bet against us - best goal difference in the league, but a young team.

2) How well Leicester fair. You sense the wheels were loosening, if not coming off. But make no mistake they are a good side, and they can focus on PL games. For me they are favorites now. But the points required to win the PL this year will be low, maybe only just over 70 points, maybe even under!

Saudi Sportswashing Machine will be very interesting given the fact that they can't win games and Sunderland are steadily stringing results together.

Any of the top 4 who loses back to back games in the final 9 wont win the title. Two points from the Man U and Liverpool games are neeed I think as a min

That's fine by me, I'm not particularly enamored by the idea of dreaming about the title before securing a CL place. I think we'll get 70, and that we'll probably drop quite a few points to United, Chelsea and Liverpool. I also think 70 will still get us over the line and secure a CL spot, which would in itself be a fantastic achievement that will really light up the final season at WHL (if we make it past the playoffs, of course) and ease our financial situation heading into the new stadium.

Still, if we take your assertion on its merits, then 73 points will win the league this year: if that's the case, then (provided we get 70 points) we could feasibly claim to have been in the title race up to the last day, which should (if it comes to pass) mollify those dreamers among us who still think we can overcome our historical....*unreliability* when it comes to the league.

We have to play man u. Chelsea and Liverpool who have all turned the corner. I am still looking at staying in the top 4, I think Leicester just having the league to focus on could get them all the way to the finish line and if we can not do it, then frankly I would be delighted for them to do it.

I don't think any of them have, they've just had an easier run of games
