Serious relegation fears

With his connections, I can see them bringing in Messi, Neymar or Iniesta. Or all of them.....

Can't see those arriving but players still making their name like Thiago and Douglas Costa maybe. Two absolutely brilliant players it has to be said but not at the top of the tree yet. They certainly need a few defenders more than anything else.

Why worry about our game against City? I'm sure they'll be as worried about facing us. I know our recent performances up there have been woeful but the page of form is turning.

I disagree

We have played well enough a few times recently up there

We had the game where Ballotelki scored the winner when he should have been sent off

Last year their first goal came when Lampard was standing in front of Hugo... And that changed the game

But every game is different so we will see in a few weeks

Right time to put a hex on....

Leicester are guaranteed top 4. Nailed on. And they'll finish above us.

The City game will effectively decide whether or not the title is realistic, it won't make a huge difference to our top four hopes. We can't win them all and City away the hardest game we have left I'd say.

There are plenty of hard games for various reasons and table position doesn't necessarily make a particular game harder imv. Plenty of potholes, such as Spam, Chelsea, , and even Manure at home. But I also feel it's up to us. We have shown we can dominate any team and we did that early in the season when the squad was still gelling. With the added experience since then, there's no reason we can't also get the results too.

Indeed. Hands up all those who went for Saudi Sportswashing Machine to grab all three points at WHL?

The crucial combo for me is the back-to-back trio of games we have against LIVERPOOL (a), MAN UTD (h), STOKE (a).
Whilst "there are no easy games in the Prem", these three worry me and will be make or break for our season, esp as Man U will likely be a 6 pointer.

Furthermore, look at who our challengers face in that period!!!

LEICESTER - So'ton (h), S'land (a), West Ham (h). Considerably easier games, 7pts minimum return.
Emirates Marketing Project - B'mouth (a), WBA (h), Chelsea (a). 6pts.
ARSENAL - Watford (h), West Ham (a), Palace (h). 7pts
MAN UTD - Everton (h), Spurs (a), Villa (h) - 6 or 7pts

So to keep up with the Jones's, we really need to be looking at a minimum of 2 wins from our games. 9pts if we need to gain any ground on those above us at the time.

In short - the Bindippers away is gonna be a massive massive game!!

Leicester play City and Arsenal, we play City. We're gonna know a lot more after next weekend.

Ideally Leic and Emirates Marketing Project draw, we beat Watford. All of a sudden we are 3pts off the top, same points as Emirates Marketing Project. I can see the Goons getting a draw at Bournemouth. I can also see the Goons doing Leicester at Cashburden Grave. The following weekend is huge - but we have beaten Emirates Marketing Project to qualify for the champions league in the past, remember - they have no Kompany and he is a huge player for them. It's not unrealistic to believe that we can be joint top with Leicester in a couple of week.

Alan Hansen famously said, "You'll never win the League with Kids". Manure when on to win the title. Our "kids" are as good as theirs were back then, in fact in Alli, Kane, Dier, Toby and Hugo would have arguably got in that great side.

So, lets enjoy it. #COYS

Van Gaal: Manchester United are not finished in the title race

“The competition is still not finished,” the Dutchman told a press conference on Friday afternoon.

“It is not finished for Manchester United and not for other teams.”

United are 10 points behind leaders Leicester going into the weekend’s fixtures, but with the Foxes away at title rivals Emirates Marketing Project, Van Gaal believes this could be a pivotal weekend.

“I feel that if we beat Chelsea – and that is not simple – our league [challenge] shall start again.

“That’s important.”

Van Gaal believes United squad will be boosted by the return of a number of key players, adding: “Now the players are coming back and they are fit again so I can continue how I have started the season this season.”

10 points off the top with 14 games to go... the United team of 5, 10, 15 or 20 years ago would definitely still be part of the title race. That's 100% sure.

This team though? Under this manager? I just don't see it myself.

Blame it on Leicester. Their sudden emergence as title contenders has made everyone belief they can win the title, regardless of their form ! Besides, the league has been so unpredictable this season. Whoever thought Chelsea would be near the relegation zone this season after winning the league title last season !

I wont be surprised if Leciester get 6 points against City and Arsenal. They are suited to playing them. Soak it up and hit them on the break. A team with balls and belief versus two teams with none.

All going as expected really. Good time to play City next week.

We might have to support Arsenal next week. *shudder*

yep, Leicester need shutting down now, they've done a great lead out train, its time for them
to move aside and let us power to the line

anyone worked out how the authorities are gonna screw us out of it this time, i hope our food is being prepared in a secret lab at the lodge

70 points. Always look at that first, and then zoom past it if possible. That, I feel, will be the mark that separates fourth from fifth this year.

22 points required. Either 7 wins, 1 draw and 5 losses from our last 13 games, or (more reasonable) 6 wins, 4 draws and 3 losses.

Either way, another couple of wins and we can cease worrying about our PPG to an extent (if we're on 54 points, say, after 27 games, then even lower mid-table form should squeak us past the mark).

Huh? We're going for the title, Dubai. Screw just scraping for 4th!
