Why would he be a decent back up?
You said yourself he doesn't score many goals.
Well, we need a backup for Kane that will make our opponents worried. And I don't think we will sign anyone that will do that.

How about something with a connection to our logo: C.O.C.K Soccer Arena........I hope our new stadium can get a cool name like this.
Does soldado make our openents worried then? And if so why?
What about his past reputation at Spurs for being a complete failure? Defenders will be delighted when they play Soldado, not worried, lol.I think his past reputation as a striker in the Spanish league will make the opponents take notice of him.
It says that he is more potential than he is finished article and therefore in our reach. Not at all it was just how you said it made it sound like that's who we're after. I don't rate him one bit and the fact no big boys are sniffing around him says a lot too.

They could easily take a couple of days off. Train on Monday and Tuesday, then fly out late on Tuesday and back on Thursday.
He just went home for the weekend, hes never done much here at the weekendshttp://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/training-gallery-july-24-240715/
He was taking part of todays training, so something is fishy - one way or the other.
Edit: Sorry, it's from Friday. My bad...
Will be interesting who has flown.. Vlad going would probably mean transfer may not be the reason.
But from reports he hasn't gone to US either, so I guess he's off then.He just went home for the weekend, hes never done much here at the weekends

Haven't seen that reported where was it?But from reports he hasn't gone to US either, so I guess he's off then.
I would argue that in some ways Harry Kane is already that type of striker. He is a good dribbler of the ball and is capable of creating his own chances.Who do we need then? We need a tricky forward who can make things happen on his own and knows where the net is.
Chelsea have Hazard - May not be an out and out striker but still a forward
Arsenal have Sanchez - Same as above
City have Aguero - he is a striker but very similar to the others above as he is tricky and can run at players.
United now have Depay - Similar to Berahino IMO.
Ok Berahino is no where near the same standard as the above but he plays the same sort of way and who else like that can we get? When was the last time we had a tricky forward who can turn players Inside out? Keane maybe in a way?
Fingers crossed!Ah man he's gone ain't he?
So who do you think would be a better option Roy?Not at all it was just how you said it made it sound like that's who we're after. I don't rate him one bit and the fact no big boys are sniffing around him says a lot too.
In my World a striker who doesn't score many goals isn't particularly good backup for a striker who scores lots of goals. I would rather have somebody coming in who actually knows where the net is.Surely, it will be stupid to sell Soldado if we are not going to buy any more strikers ! He doesn't score many goals but at least he will be a decent backup for Kane.
