Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Still don't get how

Not sure what war we are fighting here. The whole we thing is just flag shagging nonsense. How you find joy and excitement in this is beyond me.

Or you are just doing keyboard bravado as normal.
Well, we're apparently the most evil of their enemies.

The war is the same as it has been forever, democracy and civilisation against barbaric, inhumane religiosity.

Agreed that Israel is a unique case, but its a bit like Northern Ireland. The violence is only going to stop when there is a compromise and for me that must involve a two-state solution with the same western investment and protection afforded to an independent, recognised Palestine.
We were very nearly there. Then Hamas happened. A two state solution is impossible whilst Hamas exists.

Once Israel has removed Hamas, the Palestinians should be free to vote between a group of secular parties. Then everyone can start discussing a two state solution.

For want of a better term, that Graun article is complete and utter horsebrick.

REACH is alive and well in the UK - I was in a meeting with the HSE and DEFRA representatives last Thursday to discuss aspects of it. The entire legislation has been taken into UK law word for word and enacted as planned.

The EU, on the other hand, has delayed and delayed the enactment of many parts of that legislation to the point where the UK is at a significant commercial disadvantage to many in the EU.

This government (and the previous) is so brick that they've managed to remove any of the benefits of Brexit and then compound it by being worse than the EU.

No actually I live in Australia so our biggest threat is China. Not that where I live would change my point of view re my previous post

Yet if were an aboriginal Australian you might feel differently, aggrieved and dispossessed, would you agree?

You are not wholly innocent as a nation.

Such BS. Israel don't want a two state solution. They have engineered the consistant intifadas to make sure peace is never achieved,.

Israel wants a Greater Israel, from the river to the Sea as Likud put it way back when.

To think Hamas is the only problem here is pure, and probably wilful, ignorance.

Its hilarious isn't it that the UK are probably more compliant with EU legislation than many member states. About a year ago I looked at the comments under a "tweet"/post on X where the EU Commission were threatening to take action against member states that still had not implemented the 5th Anti Money Laundering Directive. One of these "Rejoiner" profiles started banging on about how it was such a shame that we weren't still part of the EU so that they could take action against the UK government. I had great pleasure in pointing out that the UK implemented the 5th AMLD in 2019 with an SI named The Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing (Amendment) Regulations 2019, which came into force January 2020.

We always implemented EU legislation on time, as directed while half the other members states would pi** about.

Look at stability & growth obligations. The UK complied with an excessive deficit procedure served on us in 2008 and closed by 2017 - enacting years of austerity measures to do it. We werent even actually obligated to comply with S&G other than on a best endevours basis as a non-euro member. Meanwhile basket case countries like Greece and Portgual got away with spamming the system until the whole house of cards fell apart in 2013/14 and they had to be bailed out....

I am not Australian I am English born in Tottenham & yes the English have a lot to answer for. Especially the massacres of Aboriginal people & then eventually the Chinese people. The English killed innocent people surprise surprise. You would no this right you would also no Aboriginal people never ceded Australia the English just took it by force

Do you have any idea what Aboriginals want or need have you ever spoken to an Aboriginal. if you did you would no they are different clans &.they all have different opinions & ideas. The more volatile one's hate the English who can blame them right

I voted yes in the recent referendum to give Aboriginal people a voice to Parliament. How did I come to this decision I spoke to my Aboriginal friends. Sadly it didn't get up because not only did white Australia didn't vote for it but some Aboriginal people voted against it.

No I would not change my beliefs for anything war that kills innocent human beings is wrong. Violence is never the answer. Killing is never the answer

For every missile Israel has, Hamas has 100 fudgewits vomiting their propaganda all over the place.

Don't be one of them, you're smarter than that.

Never? Absolutely never?

Care to test that?

Yes because you have no idea what I have seen or done
Let's start with an easy one then. Standard trolley problem.

Train carriage is hurtling down the tracks towards a group of 10 community volunteer, A* student kids. Your only option is to pull a lever to redirect the carriage. Doing so would aim it towards (and kill) an overweight, cancer riddled, repeat sex offender.

Do you pull the lever?

You would be surprised how many people have given me that question you are not going to like my answer. I would do nothing. I wouldn't do anything to kill anyone

You're in the Oval office (but across the room). Only you and the orange one are in there. He has his finger on the red button, about to nuke the entire planet (and is wearing really good noise cancelling headphones so he can't hear your pleas).

You have a gun in your hand and you're a good shot. Take it or not?

I am a very good shot. I would shoot the button multiple time making it unusable. Then remove his headphones & explain to him the error of his ways
Nice answer. Unfortunately he and the button are behind bullet-proof glass, leaving an inexplicably placed, bullet-sized hole directly between the barrel of your gun and his forehead.

With Israel withdrawing to 1967 borders and recognising full sovereignty and territorial integrity? Nah, they'll just finish the genocide
